A Productive Monday

Hey, all! I’m over at Pop Culture Divas talking about weddings this month! Come on by!

I had a fairly productive Monday, I think. I started writing a new novella that will be another story with my gladiator characters. I finally had an epiphany about how to start it while in the shower the other morning. Isn’t that a great place to think? I know it is for me. It’s just about the only place in the house where no one talks to me. 😉 So I started writing and got about 600 words done and then the thunderstorms hit. I had to shut down for a couple of hours.

While I waited out the storm, I folded laundry and put it all away and watched The View. Normally, I never turn on the TV but with the threat of bad weather, I like to know what’s happening. Lady Gaga was on. I’m not really a fan of her music, but I think she has a good message: be yourself and have the courage to be yourself, no matter what. I found I couldn’t look away as I watched her interview. You know, one of those things you can’t not look at.

As soon as the storm passed, I got the computer back up and going and got back to work. But I had some other things to get done. Like write my PCD blog post which results in me fighting with Blogger for half an hour. Once I finally got that done, I worked on my newsletter and fought with that for nearly an hour. The program I use to write it was giving me fits and decided it was more fun to crash than to actually work.

Then I headed out for lunch with an old friend. It turns out she knows a whole bunch of recruiters and so we talked about work and jobs and recruiting. I also signed some books for her and her mother. 🙂 By the time I left there, it was time to head to the school and pick up the kiddo. Ran home and started dinner. Watched the next episode of Game of Thrones I had recorded the night before. It’s pretty gruesome but it also follows the book, which I like. And now that I know what happens next in the story, I can taunt my husband with it. 😀

We watched some baseball, I read a little of my friend’s new book, and by then the day was over. Today it’s off to the bank and the post office and hopefully getting more writing done. I plan to work on the new novella as well as the space opera. My brain feels like it needs more than one story to work on at a time. Something I’ve never really been able to do. For now, I’m just going to go with it.
