I think I have a case of the Saturday blues. It sort of hit me late this afternoon. I feel like I’m just floating from project to project with no real direction.

I toyed with the idea of redoing my website. I just had a sudden urge. It passed. I left it alone.

I cleaned off my desk instead. It sure is nice to have a clean organized desk once again. The clutter was starting to overtake the world.

I read my latest RWR and my latest RT magazines. I thumbed through my Idea Book. Nothing of interest there. I wandered downstairs and watched a movie. I’m toying with the idea for a jousting novel. The idea excites me, but at the same time I worry that I don’t know what I’m talking about and it’ll be too farcical and it’ll suck.

I know. Just write the damn book. That’s what I need to do. That’s what I need to print out in big bold letters and paste to my monitor. Get the sh*t down. Those are words to live by. Or rather write by.

So, farcical or not, I should sit down at the computer and start writing the romantic comedy about jousting. Right?

Bah.

Went to Barnes and Noble today and bought three more books I don’t have time to read. But I’m looking forward to reading them. One is about a ren-faire and (guess?) jousting. The other is about a witch and the other is set in the Celtic world. Bought some flash cards for my son so he can start learning to recognize words.

Still reading Orson Scott Card’s Character & Viewpoint. I really enjoy it and hope that I can apply some of his suggestions and techniques to my own writing. My next reading material will be something fiction. I have Karen Whiddon’s Soul Magic on my nightstand to read next. And then Kinley MacGregor’s Born in Sin. So many books…so little time. *sigh*

Welp, we’re about to get hit with some thunderstorms, so I best log off. Maybe I’ll get pen and paper and actually write in longhand… yeah, that sounds pretty good…
