Despite having to get up at 3:30 in the morning and take DS to the bathroom, I feel surprisingly jolly today. I found a CD in my bag this morning and put it in the player in my car. I couldn’t remember what was on it, so I figured I’d just give it a listen.

The first song that played was “Hello, I Love You” by The Doors. I hadn’t heard that song in ages and it was great to hear it again. The on to some Beatles – “Blackbird” – and (oh my gosh) “Midnight at the Oasis”. HAHA Some Mary Chapin Carpenter (did she do Midnight at the Oasis? I can’t remember…) next and then I got a real shocker. “I Think I Love You” by the Patridge Family. I laughed my butt off when I heard it on there. Apparently, when I made this CD, I was feeling rather nostalgic for old music.

I’m embarrassed to say I know all the words to “I Think I Love You”, cheesy as they are.

When I arrived at my MILs house to drop off my son, he informed me that he didn’t like my choice of music. “Mom, I don’t like those songs.” Sorry, son.

Children will always tell you what they think. They haven’t learned to guard themselves yet. What if we, as adults, never learned that? What if we always said what we thought? I’d be in a world of trouble then. LOL

I got two issues of the serials done yesterday and turned in. Issue 113 of Scars and issue 99 of Ransom & Fortune are turned in! I’m going to try to get two more done (one of each) today or tomorrow. Very pleased with my progress on the serials.

I only got about 1000 words done yesterday on the new WIP. I can’t think of a name for my squire, so for the moment he is just called [the squire]. And I need a Count of something, so for the moment he is Count of Somesuchplace. Until I can figure out a proper name for each of them.

I should have written last night, but instead I played with my camera. Took some new pics for the Shoe Gallery (click left). I had fun snapping pictures and I got some great ones of DS.

Since my niece’s birthday is tomorrow, I wrapped up her gift to get ready to mail. I used some green tissue paper and then I found these cute stickers to sort of close up the tissue. They say things like girl power and it’s a girl thing. She’ll be nine, so I hope she likes it. And since she’s into figure skating, instead of buying a card, I made my own. I found some great skater-girl graphics to use. Very pleased with the result on that one. I brought it to work with me today so I can get it off in the mail for tomorrow’s delivery.

So I tinkered again on the computer. Played with the digital camera. I think I’m going to take the camera and snap some pictures of things around the house. Sort of do a really up close shot. Just to see what I get. They did that on Extreme Home Makeover one episode and got some really cool prints, framed them, and hung them as artwork around the house. I’m not saying I want to do that but I just want to play.

My writing friend, Angela, posed the question: What’s your writing space? I figured I’d take a picture and post for all to see. And since I just cleaned it up, I figured this would be a good time to take a picture.

The desk was made by hand. My darling husband built it for me from scratch. I don’t even think he had blueprints to go by; he just built it.
