Quote of the Day:
“When I die, I want to die like my grandfather–who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.”
–Author Unknown
DH got a raise today! WEEHAW!
But I can’t quit working yet. Darn the luck. But tis okay. I’m still on track for the two year goal of quitting when DS starts school.
Speaking of DS, he did great yesterday at VBS. He had a big day. A little shy at first but overall he did quite well. Afterwards, his grandparents took him to Panchos (he loves that place, I don’t know why) for lunch. Yesterday afternoon, the went swimming in the little pool with his Papa and then was a big boy and had a shower. Needless to say, when I got there at 5:15 to pick him up, he was crashed. And hard. He slept all the way home. I had to bribe him with Star Wars crackers (Cheez-Its) to get him to wake up. And then he asked for Monsters, Inc. so I let him watch it.
I cooked pork chops, his favorite pasta, and green beans for dinner. He cleaned his plate. It was impressive. He must be growing since he’s sleeping so much and eating so much.
Anyhoo… two issues of Scars of Yesterday done yesterday and turned in. Today I am working on two issues of Ransom & Fortune to turn in. I have half of issue 100 done. I can’t believe I’ve made it to another 100th issue. WOOHOO.
I’ve decided to participate in the new KIC Soap Opera. It’s basically four soap characters who get to pop into the KIC serials, so I’m using my characters from Ransom & Fortune. Looking forward to writing it and it should be great fun.
Got about 1000 words done on the jousting novel yesterday but that was it. I’m kind of stumped on where to go with it so I just started writing the beginning. I was distracted and fidgety yesterday so I made a cover graphic for the jousting novel. I don’t know why but it was fun to get that creative side out of me.
I got a nice nod here. I’ve decided to submit the fantasy novel to Cindy Hwang at Berkley. (Thanks for the nudge there, Jen.) Good gravy but I’m nervous about that one. I don’t know why. I have these little wiggly butterflies in my stomach thinking about it.
Isn’t that stupid?
All right, time to quit gabbing and get back to the writing (I’m waiting for the nod to print out the proposal that’s going out today… so I’m making use of the time).
Tally-Ho!
