From the new WIP. I liked this section.
Quote Du Jour:
“Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant?? I’m halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh my God…. I could be eating a slow learner.”
–Lynda Montgomery
Submission Delivered! Your item was delivered at 11:23 am on July 11, 2005 in NEW YORK, NY 10014.
So… good to know it’s there. At Berkley. Waiting to be read by the editor. I wished I had included a SASP so I’d know for sure that she had it, but tis okay. It’s enough to know that it was delivered. I guess.
I was actually surprised when I logged on to USPS.com this morning. I really expected it to be delivered some time today since I mailed it Friday night. Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. It rocks. At least the USPS is dependable (unlike OTHER delivery services…ahem…)
Got my new book yesterday. I’m so excited! It’s Patricia A. McKillip’s new release, Od Magic. I read the first give pages, but I didn’t want to get sucked in yet because I have two borrowed books I want to read first. But the first sentence…Wow. It captured me right away. I was happy to see she’ll have another release later this year, so I’m looking forward to that, too.
So many books, so little time…
Wrote two more issues of Ransom & Fortune and got them off yesterday. That puts me at completing 108. I need to write two issues of the romance today and get them in. I’m about to start 123. I’m still striving to finish this thing. I’d like to this month, but it may be August before it’s completely done. Looking forward to having that one out of the way.
I did a fun thing yesterday. My writing friend who does Mending Resolute, came up with a thing where one of her characters (a reporter) interviews one of mine. So I chose Dane from Ransom & Fortune and it was really fun to get deep inside his head. I actually got to know him a little better and some of his answers surprised me and some cracked me up. A lot of fun.
I got a good bit of progress done on the new WIP, the jousting novel. I managed to break the 20,000 word mark, so I’m inching closer to the half-way point. By my calculations, I’ll need to write about 2000 words a day until the end of the month to get to the 50,000 mark. Not sure if I can make it, but I’m going to try.
It’s quiet around the office again today. Despite people being back from vacation, things are quiet in my department. I’m glad. It will give me a chance to get some writing done and make some notes.
So, off I go!
