Happy Sad
August 29, 2005
Mixed emotions abound. I finished the final 9 issues of Ransom & Fortune, my adventure serial. They are edited and polished and ready to be turned in tonight.
:rockin:
It was difficult to write out of that corner I got myself into, but I did it. It’s done. I sent my time travelers home and there was even a Happy Ever After ending (even though it looked pretty dim for the hero and heroine).
I’m really happy that it’s finished, but on the other hand… I almost want to cry. After spending over a year with Skye and Dane, bidding them farewell is difficult. Closing that chapter of my life is a hard one, but a necessary one. I know it’s time to move on from the serials, but still…I have a sense of … loss. If that makes sense.
To Skye & Dane: I’ll be back. With a kick-ass storyline. Just wait.
Quote du Jour:
You alone can make my song take flight. It’s over now, the music of the night.
–Phantom of the Opera
Last night, I managed to unplug myself from the Internet long enough to draft the final two issues of the adventure serial. I feel a great sense of accomplishment at that! Of course, I had to use my laptop and refuse to put in the network card to do it, but I did it. I hope to have them all edited and sent to the editor by tomorrow.
Watched Phantom of the Opera this weekend (with Gerard Butler). He is so wonderful in that and he’s so darn gorgeous. Great movie. Can’t wait to see it again.
Had a busy day yesterday with DS’s birthday party. Went well. Was short and sweet. He got a lot of loot, too. Lots of fun toys and some clothes, too.
Not a lot to blog about today. Feeling a little yuck. Must have been something I ate.
At least I have coffee.
