Four years ago today, at 12:41 pm, my son met the world. He was 9 pounds and zero ounces and 21 inches long. It was a Thursday and rainy. I had a home birth and he was born in our bed. My husband and sister/midwife delivered. I had no drugs at all and, after being in labor all night, was exhausted.

Funny how you remember all the details of a particular day. I remember it like it was yesterday even though it was four years ago. But you know.. If you asked me, I couldn’t tell you what I did last Tuesday. :hehe:

Isn’t it an amazing thing how we, as mere mortals, have the power to bring such precious life into this world? It disturbs me that people don’t respect that power and cherish their babies.

In four years, I have never forgotten my child in the backseat of the car during 100 degree weather. I’ve never left him home alone. I have never forgotten to feed him dinner, or neglected to change his diapers. He always has clean clothes and a bath every night. I strive to be a good mom, make sure he knows he’s loved and cared for, he has everything he needs and wants, and he’s happy. I’m lucky, too. He is a happy and healthy kid. He has a beautiful head of blond hair, blue eyes like his dad, a cute little laugh. He’s opinionated and stubborn (much like his mother). He loves Thomas Train and Spiderman and Tom & Jerry. He has a nighttime routine that drives his parents crazy.

But you know… I can’t imagine life without him now. I can’t imagine what it was like to not have him. I can’t imagine not waking up everyday and having him there. Or him crawling in the middle of the bed at one in the morning because he had a bad dream. Or him asking for apple juice and a waffle for breakfast on Saturday.

So… Happy Birthday to my baby boy. :rockin:

Finished the adventure serial and turned in all the issues. Printed out all the issues and put them in my three-ring notebook last night. It fills up the entire three-inch binder, too. I already miss Skye and Dane and I’m thinking about the novella I’d like to do to continue their story. To make the serials into a set of novellas, though, it’s going to need heavy editing and proofing. So that’s a project when I finished my two in-progress novels and finish rewriting the completed one.

I rewrote chapter one and two of my fantasy romance. I hope to get some notes done on the dragon story later on today too. And I’d like to get back to Claudia and Blake’s story. So, even though the serials are completely done and finished, I still have three projects going on at once. I like that, though. It gives me a variety of things to work on, which I like.
