By mid-morning yesterday I felt like death warmed over. I ended up leaving the office and heading home for some rest. I had this horribly queasy stomach and a low-grade fever. I got home, climbed into bed, turned on Sex and the City, and started to doze.
But you know… every time I’d start to get to sleep good, the freaking phone would ring. And it was bloody solicitors! Annoying. So by the time the late afternoon came, I was exhausted from trying to sleep and NOT. I gave up. :doze:
Picked up my kiddo – who got the cutest haircut. He is sooo adorable! Cooked dinner. Fed the boys, then stared at the computer for a little bit. Caught up on some message boards and a few blogs. Went to bed at around 8:30, watched another episode of Sex and the City, and shut the light out around 9:15. And just as I started to doze off… the phone rang!
ARGH! :yelling:
Sometimes it makes you want to fall on a sword.
However, when I finally did fall asleep, I slept like the dead. Hard, fast, dreaming of Razr phones (don’t ask). I feel almost human this morning except for the awful dull headache I can’t shake.
So in the office, I’m sitting here minding my own business when someone asks me if I printed off part of my book to a printer on the other side of the office (yesterday). Of course not. She then says someone found some “porn†printed on the printer and thought maybe it was my book. Okay, first of all my book is not porn. Second of all – I was out sick most of the day. And third of all, why blame the romance writer? I was kind of annoyed by that. Like I would be stupid enough to print off part of my ms. – and to a printer that’s more than five steps away! And even if I did…hell, I’d be there in a second to pick it up.
Sometimes it makes you want to chew your own foot off.
Anyway…I’m printing and laminating covers today for a proposal that’s due out tomorrow. I’m slowly getting over my year-end blues. Thanks, Leigh, for the advice. You are SO right.
Now if I can just get this eye to stop twitching…

ha! That’s funny about the printer. I’ve done that, but it WAS my book on the printer! hahaha.
Re: New years blues - I don’t have any plans. I was just going to stay in but I’m being forced out of my apartment by my friends. That’s now making me blue, so I may need you to return that advice to me!
Hope you’re feeling better!

:wtf:
Tell them to stop harrassing you they are just jealous that the only talent God gave them was the ability to pass gas and eat.

Sometimes you just can’t win. Word of advice…falling on a sword would not have helped you from being sick and I think you would have regreted chewing off your foot as your favorite boots would have looked funny. Hang in there.
