Quote of the Day:
Progress in every age results only from the fact that there are some men and women who refuse to believe that what they know to be right cannot be done.
- Russell W. Davenport
Whew! Work has been busy today.
The cat and I have become fast friends. He now greets me at the door when I get home and then follows me around. He rarely talks but when he does, it’s because he wants something. To be fed. To be petted. To have his box cleaned. This is a new thing for me - I scoop the box daily. My last cat, I NEVER scooped. Perhaps having children (or a child) has cured me of that “it’s just too icky” syndrome. Anyway… He got up on the couch with me the other day and “fluffed” me up before lying down beside me. It seems he likes my fluffy white robe. I forgot all those cat habits.
Last night, after taking the Sweetie Boy home (we had a lovely time too), he meowed at me and stood up with his front paws on my leg. Staring at me as if to say, “Why aren’t you paying attention to me?” So I petted him and then put him in my lap. The boy is huge and it was very difficult to type with his head on my arm. But he purred and purred and purred. I love kitties.
Sweetie Boy and I went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and I let him play afterwards on the playground. He had a good time. Then we came back home and he watchd Tom & Jerry while I did some much needed chores. Then we sat together and watched the rest of the show, called Grammy to wish her a happy birthday. He asked his Grammy how old she was, to which she replied she was 11o.
And Sweetie Boy said, “WOW! That’s a lot!” I think he was astounded. When it was time to go, he was sad because he got it in his head he wanted to go see Grammy right then and he didn’t want to go home. So I promised our next weekend together I would take him.
We had a nice time. And for the record, the old house…stinks. Like dirty socks or something. Men are so gross, aren’t they?
:hehe:
I’d bet twenty bucks NONE of the three toilets have been cleaned since I left. Ew.
Speaking of cleaning toilets, I was so bored last night, I actually cleaned the cat box and got him fresh litter and cleaned the entire bathroom. Then I settled in to watch the figure skating and fell asleep before Sasha Cohen skated. DAMMIT. Oh well. I heard she skated beautifully.
I have my marketing retreat tomorrow and Friday so I may be blog-less for those two days. :gaw:
