Exhausted Exhaustion
August 17, 2006
I’m blogging over at ShoeIQ! Check it out. Â
Today it’s going to be 107. :dead: Kinda makes you want to fall on a sword.
This heat has been so awful lately. When you walk outside, you just want to burst into flame. It’s like the pit of hell has opened and breathed all over the freaking place here. I’m not kidding. It’s bloody hot. So hot you can literally fry an egg on the sidewalk or bake cookies on your dashboard.
I think the heat is part of my problem. I despise summer. I have since I was a kid. This is the season I hibernate indoors and try never to go outside. It’s hard, though, when you have a kiddo who wants to go and do stuff. So why do I live in Texas if the summers are so relentness? Well, I was born here. I plan on dying here. And I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Anyway… yesterday afternoon, exhaustion hit me hard and heavy. I had a terribly headache (again) and by the time I got home, I just wanted to lay on the couch. Which is exactly what I did. I just lay there and watched mindless TV. I had every intention of writing last night, but I had a hard time getting motivated to even cook dinner. And who wants to turn the oven on when it’s 104 outside?
I did eventually make my way to the computer. I wrote up my newsletter and sent it out last night, so if you’re a subscriber, be looking for it in your mailbox. I called a girlfriend and we talked for a good 45 minutes. She cheered me up since I was feeling al ittle low. I finally made it to be by 11ish.
And now my problem is not restless sleep - but getting to sleep. I can’t seem to get to sleep even though I’m totally exhausted. I lay there and stare at the ceiling for what seems like hours (in reality it’s probably only 20-30 minutes, but still…).
I’m going to blame the heat for my sleep problems, my headaches, and my fatigue. Because I get like this every summer. Tired, hot, annoyed, hot, agitated, hot, headaches, hot… sorry… I got lost for a second there.
All right I’m off to work. Have a great Thursday everyone!
And don’t forget Picture It Monday!
