Today is THE day. I close this afternoon on the house!

It’s still a little surreal to me. Can’t believe I actually did it. And in two weeks! Perhaps I should be a little freaked out. I’m thinking I am. When I heard the words “cleared to close” I came very close to breaking down and weeping. Am I really going to be a homeowner? A place all my own?

Wow.

Yesterday was one of those challenging days, too. I didn’t know if I was coming or going. Work was exceptionally busy and add to that the financial guy calling mid-afternoon wanting my August bank statement. I got it to him, though. Stopped by the water department and put in my deposit water so that’s done. Fired Reliant Energy yesterday and started up with TXU. Reliant completely ticked me off and I decided they didn’t deserve my business any more.

Movers on Sunday. Phone on Monday. DSL on Tuesday. DirecTV on October 1 with DVR. WOOHOO! And my good friend will be hanging with me all weekend to help me run back and forth as well as waiting on the arrival of my appliances.

I have appliances! I decided to go with all black. White just seemd boring. Plus you can see my magnetic poetry better on the black.

Had the baby boy last night and took him to Burger King. He played afterwards. Then we went to Lowe’s and I let him pick out paint samples. He wants bright green for his room but I’m not so sure about that.

I found a color for my kitchen and instead of red, it’s called Burnt Caramel. It’s a lovely shade of brown. I can’t wait to paint!

Then I took him home and packed some more. Still not done and I ran out of boxes. Got a call from My Guy at 10:15 and since he was closing the restaurant, he was working late. I decided to throw on some clothes and head that way to hang out while he finished up working. I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender and had a dirty martini (blech - not a fan). Saw a famous actor at the restaurant too and they finally left at around midnight. So My Guy and I had the place to ourselves for a while. I got home at 1 am! It was fun, though. Had a very nice time. Definitely have a crush.
