I made some progress yesterday with Revision  Hell. Thanks to some brainstorming with some writer pals, I came up with a new idea…which in turn calls for yet MORE rewriting.

I really have got to stop doing that. However, I keep telling myself it’s for the greater good - the book! Especially with that awesome cover. I can’t NOT rewrite.

In other news…my bookmarks arrived yesterday! A lot earlier than I had anticipated and I’m super happy about that. I also received the BeautiControl facial wash stuff I had ordered on Saturday. I love getting presents on my front porch. It makes me happy.

I’ve been struggling with my fatigue lately. That late night on Sunday is really kicking my ass and I’m trying to catch up (even though it was totally worth stay up until 2 am…).

Anyway. The Sweetie Boy is with me this week. This morning, we had a conversation about fiction and non-fiction. He knows the difference. He told me that cartoon with talking animals and Veggie Tales were all fiction because it was real. So I asked him what it was called if it WAS real and he told me it was called non-fiction.

So, we’re in the car on the way to school, and I tell him that Mommy writes fiction books. It was like the lightbulb went on. “Ohhhhhhhhhh,” he says. “Is A Bend In Time a fiction book, Mom?”

“Yes,” I said and I’m grinning ear-to-ear because he knows the name of my book. That’s my boy!

He pauses. Then says, “Is A Break In Time a fiction book, Mom?”

My gaw. I’m stunned. “YES!”

This just goes to show you that little tykes are way more perceptive than we adults give them credit for. I’m surprised and pleased he knows his mom writes fiction books. Now, we won’t discuss was SORT of fiction books until he’s…oh…45 years old. HAHA

Then this evening, when the bookmarks arrived, I opened them up. He decided he wanted one, so I gave it to him. He reads the top: A girl… a hit man… and a time machine. “Mom?” he says. “What’s does time machine mean?”

So I tell him it’s a time travel, meaning they have a machine that takes them backwards and forwards in time. He thinks about this for a second and then he grins and says, “I wish I could do that.”

SO DO I!

If I could pick any time period to visit, it would definitely have to be the Middle Ages. I am fascinated by knights in shining armor, kings, queens, courts, castles, jousts, ladies-in-waiting, medieval wear, and everything else associated with the time period.
