Red Ink
July 3, 2007
So. Last night I climbed in bed with my latest WIP and a red ink pen to make changes offline. I find this works really well for me because I can get into the story and not be distracted by the internet and email. I was tired but wanted to squeeze in more revision time. And this was after I had worked on BREAK edits. It was about 10:45.
So. I started to make notes but my eyelids get heavy and I, of course, fell asleep.
I woke up hours later with a very large red splotch of ink all over my shirt front. It looked like I had been in a terrible accident! haha I jumped up, cursed my idiocy, and tried to get the stain out by blotting with a damp wash cloth. Of course, that only made it SPREAD. So now I had red ink all over my hands, the wash cloth, my shirt and ME. Disgusted, I decided I’d deal with it today.
It’s a rollerball ink pen, by the way, on my favorite cotton shirt I love to sleep in. So if anyone has any Hints From Heloise about how to remove a large stain, please pass it on! I’d like to salvage my favorite shirt.
