Fall is finally here!
October 16, 2007
October is my favorite month. The weather changes, the State Fair is open, you get to sleep with the windows open, there are pumpkins on everyone’s doorstep… there’s this crisp feeling to the air. It’s lovely.
There was a torrential downpour yesterday morning when I left for work. When I walked out into the garage and opened the door, I noticed something on the floor. It looked like a cluster of damp leaves. I was about to nudge it all outside when it moved! Turns out it was a froggie. It hopped out when the garage door opened. Have no idea how long it’s been in there. Anyway, it rained so hard I could hardly see and it took a while to get to work. It cleared up later on, though, and it was overcast but the weather was great. Cool and crisp. I walked down to Starbucks in the afternoon and enjoyed the hell out of it.
This morning, it was so foggy you couldn’t hardly see in front of you. That kind of thick pea soup fog. Plus it was still dark when I drove in so it was hard to see. But the weather is still just great.
I slept with the window open last night and listened to the crickets chirp until nearly 11. When the alarm went off this morning (much to my dismay) there were no more crickets and it made me wonder just when they stop singing.
In other news… I got a consolidation loan! I can pay off three major credit cards. I’m so relieved. I’ve decided to tighten the belt and really buckle down and get myself out of debt. It’s going to be hard, but I’m going to do it if it kills me. May take a while but that’s cool. I can do it. I WILL do it. I don’t want to have credit card debt forever. AND…I will not be derailed this time.
Things are looking up.
I’m still thinking about the writing but I’m getting closer to a final decision. I’m hoping to hear back from the agent on my submission but it could be a while. In the meantime, I’m going to commit to finishing Take Me I’m Yours. I’ve also decided to turn the dragon story in to YA. It fits perfectly with that genre I think. Plus, the characters just don’t seem to want to fall in love.
Today I’m off to the bank and post office. Two of my least favorite errands. Blah!
