Happy Earth Day
April 22, 2008
According to my son, today we “better clean up the air”.
I do my part by recycling. This is a new thing for me but since the city gave us recycling bins, I figured what the heck.
The eye appointment went good yesterday. He’s doing just fine and no new prescription on the glasses. I’m kinda relieved seeing as I’m not prepared to fork over $250 on new lenses. Yikes. After his appointment, we went by the eye glass place and got new earpieces since the ones he had were completely worn out. They replaced them for free. That was nice.
Then we came home, cooked dinner, played a little bit and Man #1 came over after getting back in town. He’d been gone for about 4 days to California for work. We had a very nice evening together just hanging out. We sat on the couch, watched Food Network, and chatted for about two hours. It was great.
I have to admit, I’m starting to worry about the economy a bit. With the rising gas prices, I’m beginning to wonder if I can even afford to drive to work. It’s scary for me, espeecially since this is my first real effort at being single-income. I really have to watch those pennies…go to the grocery bill and the gas bill that is.
I received a thorough critique of one of my manuscripts. I’m going to take her comments and get to work on it again. I’m also still tinkering with the dragon story off and on (mostly off - I’m so ashamed).
This is the last week for soccer, though. So I’m looking forward to getting back to writing. For real this time. I mean it! (Yeah, I’m saying that just for me…)
