I really hate when I try a new recipe and it turns out to be the grossest thing on the planet. It’s such a waste of money and food.
I did my weekly menu and I decided to try this crock pot recipe for swiss steak. It sounded easy and pretty good. So I made it up yesterday morning before going to work - sliced onion, celery and carrots with round steak covered in tomato sauce. It smelled good when I walked through the door but that was the only thing good about it. It was DES-GUS-TING.
The kiddo took one look at it and said, “I don’t want that.” Yeah, um. Who could blame him? So he had left over chicken tenders and I muscled my way through a serving of the gross stuff.
And then I ate a bunch of chocolate. That was totally NOT good for the waistline.
Got about another 600 words in last night. Not much but I got tired last night since I’d stayed up late the night before. I’m about one fourth of the way through the second chapter. Things are getting tense with the story. Eirhan meets a stranger (who is the hero of the story) and she and her mother have a bit of a tiff before something terrible happens. She’ll carry around regret with her for a good portion of the story after this chapter. Poor thing. haha
It was super windy yesterday - the wind howled all night long. And it was a hot wind, too. Looks like today will be more of the same.
Okay that’s it for me. I’m off to work! Tonight dinner should be better - it’s frito pie night!
