It always amazes me how quickly the weekends go!
Saturday was super busy. We ran some errands and did some light shopping. I took the kiddo rollerblading for another lesson. He did pretty good considering he’s still trying to find his balance.
The Man had his two daughters over for dinner that night. We had wings to celebrate the return of hockey. I was super happy about this. I have been missing my Dallas Stars. So we watched the game and then we went to Braum’s. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a hot fudge sundae and it was delish!
Sunday got the kid’s hair cut and then went grocery shopping – one of my least favorite chores. Took the kid rollerblading again. I think I’d like to get a bike so I can ride while he blades. I so need the exercise and I don’t want to join a gym. I know that will be a waste of money.
One of the things I decided to do this year was to get rid of all the old financial stuff that has been sitting in the garage for 6 years. Turns out this stuff is from 1993-1997. I don’t know WHY I was holding on to this stuff. It’s all old bills and bank statements. Back then the bank sent the canceled checks back with the statements. I also had duplicate checks. So I get the pleasure of shredding checks twice. But going through all this stuff and shredding it has been sort of a purging for me. I’m seeing all these things I did, the guys I were with. I have to say… I was a total naive dumbass. What a loser I was. I can’t believe I allowed myself to act like this wimpy, simpering fool who thought she needed a man to make her life complete. It disgusted me. It was a lifetime ago and I am SO not that same person. I’m much stronger. And I don’t take crap from people anymore. Maybe those were the lessons I had to learn to become the person I am today. All I know is, shredding all this stuff feels as though a weight is lifted. I will never be that person again. Thank God.
So I’ve shredded all of 1997. Now I’m working on 1993-1996. I also found some old MajorMUD maps. Which really excited me. I spent many a night playing this game with my brother and sis-in-law online. My online MUD name was Poison. Someday I will write a story about this.
The kiddo is out of school today – lucky for him. The rest of us have to go back to work. Better get to it.

I wish we would shred. Handsome is reluctant. Sounds like a great weekend.
This stuff is so old. I’m happy to be getting rid of it.
