A Proper Blog Post

Progress Update: 1962 for the day

Since I didn’t really post an entry yesterday, here’s one to make up for it.

This weekned went by FAST. I took Friday off work and hung out with the kiddo. We went to the museum and it was jam-packed with people. I’m not much for crowds, so we didn’t stay long. I think he was a little disappointed, but McDonald’s made up for it.

Saturday was cold and rainy. We even got a dusting of snow later in the day. This has been the strangest weather, I tell ya. Today it was nearly 70 degrees. Anyway – very cold and windy and just gross all weekend. The kid was so bored, I finally packed him in the car and took him to Best Buy and made him pick out a new Wii game. I made chili for dinner. We were slugs on the couch and watched “Two Weeks Notice” and then “Housesitter”. And can I just say we love Netflix? It’s so awesome. Man and I stayed up until nearly 1 am watching movies. Then we got up early on Sunday and went to see ALICE IN WONDERLAND. We all enjoyed it.

I actually planted herbs this weekend, too. I’m going to attempt to grow cilantro, basil, chives and parsley. Oh, and cat grass for the CAT CAT who is a bad kitty since he keeps getting into my bamboo! He knocked it over and spilled all the water out of it. Hopefully the grass will grow and he’ll not be tempted by my other green plants. Little stinker.

Got more words in at lunch yesterday. Figured out the black moment so I’m good to go there and the book is nearly done. I finally found out I really DO have an editor assigned to me at Samhain so – WOOT! I have an April 1 deadline and then I’ll polish up my submission and get it to her. I’m glad to know I’m not editor-less anymore. All this time I’ve been wasting… I could kick myself.

And that’s it, boys and girls. Have a SUPER awesome Tuesday.

Hard Work

Sampson catches up on paperwork.

All that hard work makes him ready for a nap!

Blahness

I have nothing to blog about today.

No, I take that back. I have A LOT to blog about today but I can’t blog about any of it.

I have reached all new heights of suckage, I guess. So instead, I will present you with a picture of Sampson, Cat Extraordinaire. What a life he leads!

That’s all for now… At least it’s hump day!

Why it’s good to be a cat…

This pretty much sums up how Sampson and I spent Sunday…laying around on the couch. I figured we both earned the day off after getting so much done on Saturday.

I started the next major section of MAGIC on Sunday, too. I’m going to have to rethink somethings regarding the Big Secret becuase I totally reveal it. I’m not sure how it’s all going to go down yet but the next section will be crucial in setting upt he backstory with Eirhan’s parents. I have to get it right.

I was very pleased, however, with the progress I made on Saturday. You’ll note the word meter moved by at least 10,000 words. It’s been a while since I updated it, so I was happy to see I’m nearly at the half-way point. I got about 2,000 words in on Satuday and just a handful on Sunday while I plot in my head. I did come up with some interesting backstory for a very pivotal character. He’ll play a larger role in Book 2.

Anyway, so it was all good. I also went to church. They’re doing a production of The Music Man next October. I can’t believe I did this – but I signed up for auditions (which aren’t until May). At least that gives me plenty of time to change my mind. :)

Part of me thinks it’ll be so much fun to get back into a musical production but the other part of me is terrified I won’t remember had to dance. It’s only been, oh…20 years! I guess I better start working out now.

Sunday was such a GORGEOUS day I had to share it. Below are two pictures I took of the early morning. The first is from the back door, the second from the front door.

Every was so green and lush. And the sky was so blue. We had some wind but other than that the day was just perfect. I love this weather! I hope it sticks around for a while and we don’t go back to the hot and yucky humidity.

For dinner, I roasted a pork loin and vegetables. It smelled so good and was quite tasty. I love those kind of meals that you cook for a couple of hours. The anticipation is almost as good as the meal itself. ;)

This is the fourth week of school – already! I can’t believe how fast time is flying by. The holidays will be here before we know it and that’s a very scary thought.

TIme for school and work… Happy Tuesday!

I Spy…

First – I’m blogging over at RomErotica today! Stop by and check out my post here.

…a CAT-CAT. Can you see him? He thinks he’s invisible while he hides from the kiddo. It cracks me up. I love the way his front paws are right together and the way he’s still up straight and completely still. hehe

Man came by last night. He’s grown fond of Sampson and he’s been giving me hell about what I feed him. Okay, I admit – I’m on a budget so I choose to buy food that is sort of in the middle of the price range. So… Man gave me money and told me to buy the Cat-Cat “better” food.

I did. And the cat seems happier, too. When I put his food in his dish the first time, he sniffed, took a bite, then mewed this little tiny meow. hehe It’s hairball control, so hopefully I won’t find disgusting presents on the carpet now.

Anyway… so I have a happy cat.

So my goal for finishing the YA Fantasy is November 1. I’ve also committed myself to writing at least 4 pages a day. I would like to shoot for finishing a chapter a week. That might be rather lofty, though, so I figured to start out with 4 pages. :D

Okay that’s it for me – it’s off to work and school!
