Birthday Bash!

Hi, gang! Today begins my birthday week. On Sunday, I will be 40 and Fabulous and Proud of It. So in honor of my special day and the fact that I’m going to celebate it all stinkin’ week (It’s my party – I’ll celebrate if I want to), I’m giving away books. Every single day.

That’s right. BOOKS GALORE!

Today’s offering: Phoenix Fire

Kill, or be killed.

Elena Gaius is Hixyl’s most heralded gladiatrix, catching the Emperor’s eye with her unspoiled beauty and fiery temper. Determined to let no man have her, he forces her into a life of unwanted accolades—for slaughter in the Games. With independence out of reach, Elena knows each day could be her last.

Cassius Antonius is a former general hired by an underground secret order to assassinate the Emperor. When he refuses, they take away the only thing precious to him—his freedom. Forced into servitude, he meets Elena and manipulates her into helping him, forming a shaky alliance and a searing romance.

The two become unwitting pawns in the struggle to save Hixyl from the Emperor’s tyranny. But plans spin out of control with the discovery of their secret tryst, and for their ultimate act of betrayal, the Emperor demands one last entertainment—to be pitted against each other in the Games in a fight to the death.

How to enter and win:

Comment on this post. Tell me what your favorite summer activity is. Winner will be chosen at random. All entries should be time marked by midnight CST tonight.

My favorite summer activity? Sitting inside in the AC. LOL

Six Sentence Sunday for April 29, 2012

Hey everyone! Today’s Six Sentence Sunday comes from my DCL Publications release, Phoenix Fire. Hope you enjoy it!

Elena lived to kill and killed to live.

Such was the way for the lowest of the low. A slave to slaves. Her pathetic excuse for a life teetered on the edge of her blade every time she swung it. This time, it made contact with the minotaur’s skull in a crushing blow. She could hear the snap of bones as she sliced through skin and fur hair.

Where to get it:

Available now in eBook at Fictionwise, All Romance eBooks and Amazon!

Happy Heart Day!

Today, I’m talking about the origins of Valentine’s Day over at The Romance Studio. The post should be up around 7 am CST.

Valentine’s Day. The day for lovers, roses, cards and chocolates. In honor of today, I am giving away one eBook of the winner’s choice of my two latest releases, ONE KNIGHT ONLY or PHOENIX FIRE. All you have to do is comment on this post or over at The Romance Studio to be entered to win. If you comment on BOTH posts, you get your name in the hat twice. You have until midnight CST to get those comments in! Winner will be announced right here on Thursday, February 16. Good luck!

What’s that? You can’t decide? You don’t remember which story is which? Well… let me assist you with that!

One Knight Only

A snarky Faery princess, a Scottish knight with a gambling problem, and a murderous earl all add up to one thing: Trouble. Maggie’s medieval education never prepared her for life in the Middle Ages!

Do-gooder Maggie Chase throws her thesis out the window when she wakes up in the arms of a hot Scottish knight. When she realizes she’s somehow ended up back in time, she embraces the persona of Lady Margaret. But she may be in over her head when she realizes she has to keep the sexy knight alive during a jousting tournament in order to get back to her own time.

Sir Finian “Finn” McCullough is a gambling man and owes a very large debt to an evil earl who is after his family estate. When the beautiful and outgoing Maggie arrives in his bed, he can’t remember tupping her the night before and thinks she’s a spy for one of his neighboring clans. He intends to find her kinsman and return her safely but he can’t resist her charms, her smart mouth or her sex appeal. Instead he keeps her close, taking her with him to an important jousting tournament—one he has to win or lose his castle forever.

The New Book Trailer…and other stuff

Yesterday was a bit of a rough day. Very frustrating day as a matter of fact. I took a smoke break and I don’t smoke. ;) Actually, I just needed to get some air. It helped. The best part of the day was coming home to my waiting kitty, an agitated fish, and then eating a burger off the grill and hanging out on the couch with Man, NCIS and my stitching.

We had a good soaking rain on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday was full of sunshine, though. Since it was dreary outside on Sunday, it was a good day to do some design work. I got my bookmarks done and sent off to the printer. I also designed my Romance Trading Cards which I’m urber excited about (they’re all the rage!). I’m waiting on samples from a new printer I want to use before I order. The price is right, so as long as the quality is there, I’m on it. The trading cards are for my fantasy romance, Phoenix Fire. Here’s what they’re going to look like. The first image is the front and the second is the back of each one. One for Cassius and one for Elena.

I like them. :) But then, I’m biased.
