Catching Up After Memorial Weekend

I’ll be signing copies of my book, One Knight Only, on Friday, June 8 from 7 pm to 9 pm. Come out to A Real Bookstore, The Village at Fairview, 113 Prairie Road, Fairview, TX 75069. Located east of I-75 just north of Stacy Road. Other authors signing that night are Sasha Summers, Kelly Lee, Karilyn Bentley and Liese Sherwood-Fabre. Hope to see you there!

I’ve been out of it for a while, eh? Have you missed me?

We went out of town for Memorial weekend to a place in Talco, Texas. If you don’t know where that is, it’s near Mt. Pleasant, about three hours east of Dallas. This is the place we stayed–the couples cabin. The view was great. Even though the temps were in the 90s, it didn’t seem all that terribly hot. Probably because we were away from the city. The whole family game for a reunion. And, oh yeah, I turned 40 that Sunday. 😀 It was a lot of fun. We did karaoke and stayed up way too late and got up way too early. We were exhausted when we got home Monday afternoon. It took me all week to recover.

This past weekend, we took it easy. Husband and I donated blood on Saturday and it wiped us out. We didn’t do much that afternoon. I napped. It was glorious. That night, we played a game of Scrabble. Then we played a rousing game of Crazy 8’s with the kiddo, who kept beating us. It was a lot of fun and we laughed ourselves silly. Afterward, we headed to Sonic for their half-price shakes after 8 pm. Delish! I love lazy weekends like that. Reading, cleaning, laundry and just kinda hanging around the house.

This week, it’s back to normal–a five-day work week. But! I have some vacation time coming up. Husband and I are planning to take the kiddo to the Dallas World Aquarium. I’m looking forward to that. Then in July, we’ll be heading to west Texas for some R&R. I’m really excited about that. It’s our first family vacation. 🙂

Hard to believe it’s June and school is out. I now have a middle-schooler. *sniff* They grow up so fast.

I wish you all could be inside my head. The conversation is sparkling.
