Lovely Weekend

Happy birthday to my big sis! Hope you have a fab day!

Today is my inaugural post at Plotting Princesses – come say hi!

I didn’t want to write last night but I made myself and ended up with 1625 words and just over 41k total.

We had a really nice weekend. Saturday was pretty much booked for me – I finally got my hair cut and colored which is always a good thing. I was in desperate need. Then for dinner, the husband and I headed to Mi Familia in Roanoke. Wow – some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! Of course, we passed Babe’s Chicken but decided against it. Especially since the line was out the door and the wait was at least an hour. 😉 Afterward, we stopped at B&N and I bought a new research book on knights. It’s full of great information so I was very excited to get it. I also enjoyed an ice coffee.

Then we headed home and watched The King’s Speech which was actually really good. I enjoyed it. It was a nice change from all the action/adventure movies we usually watch with lots of explosions and what-not. 😉

Sunday we ran some errands. We went to Bed Bath & Beyond and I got some things I needed to get organized plus some air baking sheets for cookies. I can’t wait to use them! We also got a new bathroom rug (isn’t it funny how little things like that can be so exciting?). Then it was off to Lowe’s where I bought some new blinds to replace the broken ones in the living room. Of course, that little project turned into an hour one since Man had to replace the brackets and everything. However, it makes the house a lot cooler. Then we grilled hamburgers.

But not just any hamburgers. This was by far one of the best creations ever. We bought the pre-made patties at Kroger (mushroom burgers) and threw them on the grill. Then I put some fries in the oven and sauteed onions. After the fries were done, I baked some Texas garlic toast. Then, when the burger patties were done, I placed the garlic bread on the plate, followed by the sauteed onions, then the burger patty. Then ate it with fork. Oh my stars, it was so good. And a nice change from the regular grilled burgers. You could add a slice of avacado if you had it, but I failed to purchase some at the store. Definitely give it a try! We loved it.

All in all, it was a good weekend. How about you? 🙂
