Quote of the Day:
Make yourself an honest man, and then you may be sure that there is one less scoundrel in the world.
– Thomas Carlyle
LOST was fantastic last night. Sysenlaw pointed out to me that the guy they’re holding in the hatch is named Henry Gale. She wanted to know if I thought that sounded familiar and it hit me all of a sudden. Uncle Henry! From The Wizard of Oz! We’re wondering if that’s intentional or if the writers are screwing with us.
I had a nice evening last night. After LOST, I tried to watch Barbara Walters, but I couldn’t get into it, even for Patrick Dempsey (who’s come such a long way!). Instead, I actually sat down at my computer…and wrote. I worked on the dragon story and you’ll note I have changed the sidebar to reflect progress. I’ve decided to definitely put away MAGIC for now and NGD and just concentrate on the dragon story. My goal is 60,000 words and to write a chapter a week. Better get on the ball since the week is nearly over. I did finish the first chapter and started the second last night. Not much writing, but writing indeed. I am so proud of myself.
Anyway, my brain was like on overload or something. After I wrote a little, I watched the end of Pride & Prejudice since I fell asleep before it was over the night before. LOVED it. Then since it was nearing midnight and I was still wide awake, I started on another contest entry. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It was rather boring and though the writing wasn’t bad at all… I dunno, the story was just…blah. If that makes sense.
I think tonight I’ll work more on the dragon story. I’m starting to think I need an AlphaSmart to unplug myself from the temptations of email and the ‘Net. Dang I wish I could afford one right now…I need to save my pennies.
For now…it’s time for more coffee.
