Rain and other things

Yep. It’s still raining. Mostly off and on now. Today, though, it came a torrential downpour. I had just finished mowing the front and back – and it was still a bit too wet for that but I did it.

Got the second round of edits yesterday on BREAK and stayed up until 1 am working on them. I’m fairly close to being done already.  I should meet the due date with nary a problem. I still have the synopsis to rewrite but that shouldn’t take me long, even though I don’t like to do ’em. hehe

I’m also looking forward to the edits on NICE GIRLS DO. It will be a nice change of pace from the heavy action of BREAK.

And I’m still plugging away at MAGIC. I’d like to have it complete in the next month or so and submit it to Samhain.

This weekend was good. Friday night we went to the book store and I ended up buying three books – two for the baby (two new Magic Tree House books and the trivia card came – we have the first six books now) and a new book for me. A paranormal. I can’t wait to start reading it and really get inot it because it sounds awesome. It’s Immortals: The Calling by Jennifer Ashley.

Right now I’m currently reading Candace Haven’s book and I want to finish that before I start anything new.

So the baby boy and I read Pirates Past Noon this weekend and it was the most exciting one so far. Then Saturday morning we went to see Rataouille and it was very cute. Sweetie Boy sat on the edge of his seat holding his bag of popcorn through most of it. It was cute.

Then we went home and rested for a couple of hours before heading out to The Man’s restaurant. He loves going and we always have a good time even if it’s just the two of us. Of course, the very nice perk is that we eat there for free. Sweetie Boy demolished his plate of broccoli and steamed chicken and I had a very spicy chicken dish. We had to have dessert too, of course. The chocolate cake. Which is in my refrigerator and I’m trying to ignore it.

Sunday we went to the grocery store, the pet store, Target. He played on the computer while I mowed the yard and then came inside and literally collapsed on the floor under the fan. I broiled a top round steak for dinner and worked on the book some more.

Exhausted hit both of us. He had his bath, brushed his teeth, and we finished reading his book and he was out in about 5 seconds after tucking him in. Even though I was tired, I couldn’t sleep right away. I needed some downtime before climbing into bed. So I talked to The Man on the phone, we text’d back and forth, I emailed some writer friends for advice on a situation I’m having… and I had a kahlua and milk. It was divine.

I climbed into bed with chapters 7-9 of MAGIC to re-read and edit. It was a good weekend but it certainly wasn’t long enough. I’m looking forward to my two days off this next week. But I really want a vacation, even if it’s a weekend getaway. Maybe I’ll kidnap my mom and take her to East Texas to see my sisters one weekend. That could be fun.

Monday came to fast. I’m trying not to be a grump about it. But I totally am.

And – surprise – it’s supposed to rain today. sigh
