Hello, beautiful readers! How about another tease from my WIP, A KNIGHT LIKE NO OTHER? This is book 4 in the fantasy romance Realm of Honor series.
“You have my thanks, my lady.”
“It is not your thanks I require.”
He knew what she meant and he wanted to give that to her. Oh, how he did. He had loved her from the moment he rescued her from the hunter. From the moment he saw her, he wanted her. She spoke to his heart in a way no other Elven woman had or ever could. He took her hand, planted a soft kiss on her palm.
“I cannot give you want you want.”
“You can.” She flattened her hand on his cheek.
“No. You cannot leave your kingdom and I am bound to my own.” He released her hand and stepped away. “I will be returning, my lady.”
He started down the corridor, his boots echoing on the walls.
“Lord Eldrin,” she called.
He paused and turned to look at her. She took slow steps toward him, her hands clasped in front of her. Light from the candles in the wall scones shimmered in her coppery hair, sparking a bright flame in the strands. Strands he longed to touch and run his fingers over.
“Let me make myself clear, Lord Eldrin. I love you. I have always loved you and I think you love me, too. We can find a way. There is always a way.”
