2024 Year in Review

As I sit down to write this, it’s just ten days until Christmas, and I’m amazed at how quickly the year has flown by!

This time of year always makes me pause and reflect on what I’ve accomplished. Looking back helps me gauge my progress in the writing business, celebrate my wins, and set my sights on new goals for the year ahead. Here’s a snapshot of what 2024 looked like for me:

Writing Milestones

  • Monthly Word Count: I wrote an average of 22,111 words per month. My lowest month was September, with 6,883 words (thanks to travel!), while June was my most productive with a whopping 32,775 new words.
  • Writing Days: I spent an average of 16 days each month writing.
  • Completed Projects: This year, I finished four novels and one novella. That’s a lot of words and worlds created!

Publishing Highlights

  • Book Releases: I released four new YA Fantasy novels—a genre I’ve loved diving into.
  • Audiobook Narration: I narrated all four of my YA Fantasy novels and completed three additional audiobook projects for clients. It’s been a thrill to bring these stories to life.

New Skills and Ventures

  • Marketing: I took a deep dive into Facebook and Amazon ads. While I’m still learning, it’s exciting to see the potential these tools have to connect with more readers.
  • Publishing Contract: I signed a contract for three fantasy historical romances with a publisher. Get ready for some steamy Highland adventures coming soon!
  • Reader Engagement: In May, I launched my Facebook Readers Group, and it’s been amazing to connect more closely with my readers.

Personal Highlights

  • Travel: In September, I fulfilled a dream and traveled to Scotland. The trip was as inspiring as I hoped and gave me ideas that will show up in future stories (hint: HIGHLANDERS!).

No wonder I’m feeling a little tired—it’s been an incredible, whirlwind year! But I’m also deeply grateful and energized for what’s to come. 2025 is already shaping up to be exciting with new writing goals, fresh stories, and plenty of opportunities to keep growing.

Thank you for being part of my journey. Here’s to an even more amazing new year!
