Hey don’t forget I’m over at RomErotica Writers! Check out the post here.
Also – this is Reader Appreciate Week at Samhain Cafe. Every day, someone will win an ebook! Plus, I’ll be chatting on Friday, March 14 at 9 pm and guess what? I’m giving away a signed copy of A BEND IN TIME as well as some other goodies. Stop by, won’t you? You can hit the Yahoo group by clicking here. See you there!
The ex dropped off the kiddo Sunday evening at about 6. He’ll be out of town every week for the next six months (the ex, not the kiddo). So I’m Single-Mom-ing it. The baby boy has to turn in his Texas flag project today and I think we did a smashing good job, if I do say so myself.
I bought a piece of white poster board that was a rectangular shape. And then took red and blue construction paper and tore it into different shaped pieces. I sectioned off the poster board and then we glued the paper in an overlapping pattern to make the red and blue of the flag. Then I printd a big star off the computer, glued it down and then hot glued white pipe cleaners to the edges to give it a 3-d effect. It was cool. I was going to post a picture but I can’t get the bloody picture editor to work right so eff it.
I spent Friday evening with Man #1. We rented movies, bought beer, and hung out. It was kinda fun. We watched Beowulf. You know, that computer animated flick with the famous voices of Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright Penn, and Ray Winstone. I have to say, the previews looked totally cool but the story really fell flat. We were making fun of it by the end and I was completely disappointed.
The rest of the weekend was devoted to chapter stuff – working on the contest – and then getting the galley printed of A Break In Time. I started reading it this weekend and I can really tell how weak the writing is. It’s not my best effort and I can tell. Oh well. Onward and upward. Let’s just hope I can sell a few copies here and there.
And let’s just hope I can sell another manuscript period. I’m really starting to sweat bullets, let me tell you.
But you know… I’ve had this… idea brewing in the back of my head for a while now. I haven’t exactly grasped what it is yet. I mean, it’s just sort of a feeling about a new story so far, nothing real concrete. Just something that’s nagging at me. A character hasn’t popped in yet and said, “Hello. I need you to write my story.” All I know so far is that it’s a fantasy-based story and it feels kind of familiar. I’m thinking it might be the story of Nyan and his mother, Ilsa (from the frozen tundra in A Bend In Time). I had wanted to do a spinoff for that, so maybe that’s what it is. Still waiting for a sign though…
I wonder if that happens to other writers?
And that’s about it for me. I really need to go write in the fashion blog tonight so maybe I’ll run do that. I have fashion stuff to talk about. 🙂
Happy Monday, ya’ll!
I’m constantly juggling multiple stories. And, often the only way I can keep a secondary character from hijacking the main story is to promise the character a book of his or her own one day . . .
What about DELILAH???
🙁
Yeah, that happens to me too. Unfortunately, in my case it usually ends up with me having a number of WIPs and no completed manuscripts! haha
