So it’s Monday again. The weekends go so darn fast. I don’t think it’s fair. 😉
This weekend we were busy running around getting stuff done. I managed to get all the laundry finished on Saturday which was nice because I didn’t have to worry about it on Sunday.
I had a bit of a litter issue this weekend, too. I threw out the old litter to replace it with me. The problem with that was, the liners I had…didn’t fit the box (I bought a different brand in my haste to get liners the day I got Dexter). So, in a pinch, I used two liners and cut them open, then lined the box and used masking tape to secure it so it wouldn’t slide around. It works for now but I’m not looking forward to changing it again. hehe And, can I just say? I think I’ll start calling Dexter Sir PoopsALot. Because he does. A lot more than Sampson ever did.
The kiddo had a book report project due next week so we worked on that Sunday. We had to take a 2 liter bottle and dress it like the historical figure he read about (he chose Henry Ford). It took some doing and two trips to Michael’s but we got everything (some things we ended up not using) and made the Henry Ford Biography Bottle. It actually came out kinda cute. I was impressed and thought it would take a lot longer than it actually did. The kiddo had the idea for the shirt, coat and tie, and I figured out how to make pants and a belt on him. I helped him glue everything together and then we used a medium sized Styrofoam ball for the head. I found some fleshtone acrylic paint and the kiddo painted the ball that color. Then we added hair and I bought some wiggle eyes and we put those on. He drew on the nose and mouth.
I was glad to get that out of the way. We had a nice rest of the evening – I caught up on email and he read his Diary of a Wimpy Kid book (which makes him laugh out loud).
And so here we are back to Monday. Only two more full weeks and then Thanksgiving is here. Hard to believe, actually.
It sounds like a great project. Will you post a photo?
What a fun project! It sounds like you had fun together making it!
“Sir Poops A Lot!” ROFL!
Sounds like you guys had fun! Well, except for the litter mess. I think Sir Poops A Lot should show up in a book!
Yes. We need a picture of the Henry Ford bottle. Honestly, I don’t know what Henry Ford looked like. I have a poopsalot kitty as well. He could be poopsalot kitty outside, but the kids would through a fit.
