Look what I did this weekend! Isn’t that cool? Yes – I carved it. Well, okay, I got a carving kit but – LOOK! haha
The little one was done for the Sweetie Boy per his request – he wanted triangle eyes and a rectangle nose. The other one was done with a design I transfered from the paper to the pumpkin. It came out really well and was surprisingly easy.
This was another fast and furious weekend. I can’t even remember Friday. I think we stayed home and had Chick-Fil-A.
Saturday was soccer game day – they lost to girls 6-2. The other team, though, had two really fast girls and they kept scoring. I think the boys were a little timid about taking the ball away from them. At least we got two goals.
Then we headed to the grocery store where I spent way too much. After the store, we went home and relaxed for a bit before heading to the movies. We saw The Game Plan and it was really cute. Kind of a shallow storyline but otherwise cute. There were some very funny moments.
I fainted on the couch shortly after the baby was in bed asleep. I stumbled to bed sometime around 11ish. He woke me up just before 7 am (*groan*) by climbing in bed and talking my ear off for an hour. He told me how he wanted to go to Manhattan. He also decided he wanted a Wii for Christmas.
The funny thing about that is I had planned to get him one – or try to since they’re so scarce. I’ve been looking since July and haven’t found one yet. So my other source was eBay. Satuday I had a couple of auctions I was watching. There was one seller in particular that had the Wii with 2 controllers, 2 nunucks, and 14 games. COOL. Most of the packages I see like that sell for well over $500.
Anyway. I told the Sweetie Boy – what if I couldn’t get him onen for Christmas.
“Well, I will just ask Santa for it.”
Oh boy. He even went so far as to tell me he would have list his ready and be brave and sit in his lap and tell him he wanted a Wii. He must want it pretty bad if he’s willing to sit in Santa’s lap (he never would do it the years previous – even after standing in line for AN HOUR).
So I knew I had to make sure he got his Wii for Christmas. I set out to win one of those auctions. It took several tries but I finally FINALLY got one!
Now, I should note that Fry’s had an ad in Friday’s paper for a Wii system – just one controller though and the standard 4 games for $299. I got the following for $100 more:
- Wii Console
- Wii Console Stand
- 2 Wii Remotes
- 2 Wii Numchuks
- Sensor Bar
- Wii AC Adapter
- Wii AV Cable
- Wii Sports Disc – (Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling and Boxing)
- Wii Play Disc – (Find Mii, Table Tennis, Pose Mii, Laser Hockey, Billiards, Fishing, Charge, Tanks, and hooting Range)
I AM SO EXCITED! Because, you know, it’s for me too. 😀
Of course, now that I’ve gone ahead and purchased one via eBay, they’ll be all over the stores for half the price. That’s always my luck.
I had already bought him a few things so I’m basically done buying Christmas stuff for him. That’s his big Christmas. And now I don’t have to sweat that Santa won’t be bringing his Wii.
So that’s what I did on Sunday – went to church, carved pumpkins, backed cookies, won a Wii.
No wonder I’m exhausted. 😉
CUTE pumpkins!
My kids love our Wii. Basically, I checked the electronics section at Walmart every time I went there. I got lucky finally. They usually get six in at a time, and they’re gone the next day.
Gorgeous pumpkins!
Great job on the pumpkin! And congrats on the Wii
