We had to get up early Saturday morning to get to soccer. Pictures were supposed to be at 8:15 but guess what? The photography was late so we didn’t get pictures done. Which mean we were at the field like WAAY too early. The game wasn’t until 9. So we all hung out until gametime and the boys practiced. I have to admit, though, it was nice to have the game early and get it out of the way.
We had the rest of the day to do stuff. We went to Bed Bath & Beyond and I got a new roasting pan. I had a twenty percent off coupon and then there was a $10 rebate, which means I got the thing for a mere $8. Woohoo! Then the baby boy wanted to visit the pet store and look at the cats and dogs and birds and fish. So we did that.
After that, we headed to Best Buy where I returned a cable that didn’t work and purchased a new keyboard (I’m spoiled to my ergonomic one and I had to have it to go with the new system since my wireless decided not to work) and then I got suckered into a new Wii game and a new movie. What can I say? I’m a softy.
After that, we hit the movie theater so I could get a gift card for an upcoming birthday of someone I know and love.
By the time we hit the house that aftenroon, I was exhausted. I let the kiddo watch his new movie (Alvin and the Chipmunks – totally stupid but he cracked up so that’s all that matters) while I crashed on the couch for about thirty minutes. Then we headed to Chick-Fil-A for dinner since I had nothing in the house to eat.
Sunday morning we slept late. Way after 9. It was great. Then it was off to the big Wal-Mart for grocercies, which was actually a beating. It usually is at Wall-Mart. There are all sorts of morons on there who stand in the middle of the aisle with this damn carts. They have no situational awareness and don’t realize there are folks around them who are trying to shop, too. Drives me nuts. But what really kills me are the people who literally race you to the meat counter. Just so they can get their meat first and then block the entire way so you can’t get up there to peruse the meats as well.
I spent way too much money on food but what can you do? Gotta have it. And I have noticed an increase in prices on certain things I buy. Produce is higher as well as most beef and chicken. Some canned goods have gone up. It’s getting harder and harder to stay on budget when the price of food continues to go up.
Oh well.
The Stars won the last game of their season against San Jose (one of my more hated teams) so I was happy to see them win. And it was fan appreciation day. haha
Got home and cooked dinner but I was still pretty tired. This weekend wore me out. And I have a super busy week ahead of me. Monday is critique night. Tuesday I’m signing up to sell Avon (yes, I know – like I have time for that); Wednesday is soccer; and Thursday I’m getting a free estimate on siding. I desperately need this siding, too. I have a hole in a corner of the eaves and the wood is rotting away. Plus, they do gutters so I’m going to see about that as well. If it’s not outrageously expensive, then I’m going for it. No interest or payments for 12 months. Besides, maybe it’ll make the house more energy efficient. 🙂
Oh and I killed fire ants today. I have mounds and mouns in the backyard and I’m worried the kiddo is going to get into them. DIE, ants, DIE!
I’m planning on getting back to writing this week. Come hell or high water. Wish me luck. 🙂
I HATED fire ants. I always put the illegal Diazanon (sp?) on them. Well, it was legal, then. Ha! But yeah, they are hard suckers to get rid of. We had to have a professional come and do it.
Killing fire ants! You go girl! haha. Sounds like a not so bad weekend all in all – hurrah play offs!!!
