The weather people said it would be in the upper 30s for the high yesterday. I never made it to 30 at all! There is some freezing precipitation on the way which just makes me all warm and fuzzy (please note sarcasm). The high today is supposed to be 38. Let’s see if it gets there.
As I sat at my desk last night, typing away on the computer, I could hear some sleet hitting the bushes and the sidewalk outside. Nice. I’m sure it won’t stick much but there is that hazard of driving to work with all the crazies. I have several bridges to go over before I make it downtown. I brought my work computer home, just in case I get iced in.
I felt like crap most of the day. I was tired of sneezing, sniffling, and blowing my house. I sounded like a Christmas goose and my nose looked like Rudolph. Not a pretty picture. I ended up leaving work at about 4:30. I wanted some comfort food but I was (a) too lazy to go get it for dinner and (b) had no interest in stepping foot outside. (I realize to you folks up north 30 isn’t downright balmy for you guys but here in North Central Texas, it’s like being in Antartica. ;)) So I went home, pulled out my cookbook and made homemade chicken noodle soup. It was delish! I was very pleased with the outcome. It made me feel so much better when I was eating it too.
And then my nose promptly closed right back up. I suffered for another hour or so until I finally broke down and took something to open me back up. It was early to bed, too, becuase I was so tired and so borderline sick.
I did watch Big Bang Theory last night and laughed my butt off. That show cracks me up.
And that’s about it. Pretty ho-hum.
It IS cold! I am very impressed that you just happened to “have onhand” the ingredients for homemade chicken noodle soup! I would have had to run out and buy carrots, celery, etc. *sigh* Oh well. With three boys, you run out of food fast around here. Even the healthy stuff. They take it all!
Feel better soon, Rudolph!
XOXOXO
I feel sorry for my dog. She loves to walk, but it’s too cold out for me.
I’m impressed about the chicken soup ingredients too. 😎 I hope the chicken soup kicks in and you feel better soon.
