So last week sped by at the speed of light. I came home exhausted from the heat and working my tail off. I have a busy, hectic shop with is great because it makes the days go by fast but it’s also not so great because it makes the days go by fast. 😀
I did manage some words during the lunch hour a couple of times last week but I have no tally because I didn’t keep track and I haven’t checked it out yet. At the time of this writing, it’s Sunday night and I haven’t even had time to pull out my thumbdrive much less read the bonus Karen Marie Moning scene from JZB (if you’ve read the Fever series, then you know what I’m talking about). This weekend was about running errands and getting the laundry done and cleaning the godforsaken toilets. And drinking martinis. 😉 We usually cook out on the grill on Sunday nights and I usually drink martinis when we do that. Which is indeed what occurred. heh
I also worked on my tiger. I’m about halfway done with it (not include all the detail I have yet to do). I’ve decided my next project will be a fairy just for me and I ordered the pattern this weekend. It looks like this. I haven’t ordered the fabric yet. I figured I’d do that once I finish the tiger. The fairy is stitched at 25 ct over one thread, thereby ensuring I will be blind by the time I finish it. 😉
Another thing I discovered this weekend was that I made some money from Smashwords and actually got paid this weekend. I was so excited. I actually sold my two little short stories enough to get some money. Woohoo! I have big plans for some new stories to self-publish. What I lack is the time and energy. I have some two books in progress and I really need to finish them before I start something else; however, I do have something in the works that I can’t talk about yet. Hopefully soon. In the meantime, I’m going to write during stolen minutes.
I’ve been having some back pain, mostly becuase I can’t seem to sleep correctly. I started looking into yoga classses at a yoga studio instead of at a gym. There are several around the area I’m considering. What I need is a place that has flexibility (evening and weekend classes) that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I think I’ve narrowed it down to one place that has the evening classes I want/need with a 10 class pass for a reasonable price. I’m going to take one class to see how I like it before I buy a pass. Hopefully I can start going at least once a week, maybe twice. I need to get myself into some type of shape and I really need for my back and joints to stop hurting. I think yoga will help.
School starts in two weeks! We bought a backpack and lunchbox this weekend to get all ready for it. Right now, I can get myself to work on time. I have no idea how the schedule is going to change once it starts. Since it’s Monday. I’ll be running my legs off this morning. It’s the way Monday and Friday seems to go. 🙂
Hope everyone has a productive week!
The yoga classes this summer have made a huge difference in helping my back, and keeping me pain free during long days at the computer. Most studios allow drop-in classes so you can get to know them. Good luck.
And keep stealing minutes to write!
Hope you find the PERFECT Yoga class. Back pain stinks. Have a happy Monday!
Good luck with the yoga! I ‘sorta’ like yoga, but like a little weight training better. I have gained balance from yoga!
Glad the tiger is progressing…and when you start that fairy…well just one word, glasses. hehe…. 😉
