Okay so I only made a little progress on my WIP yesterday. Mostly it was editing what I had rewritten the day before. I like to go back and do that on the last two chapters after I’ve written a big chunk. So only 192 fresh words yesterday. But, hey, I exceeded my goal for the 1st and the 2nd.
Besides, I had a date with my DVR and Moonlight (my goodness, that man is hot on that show…).
I really do need to stop drinking this Rosemount shiraz. It’s a great wine, but it makes me terribly sleepy.
It’s been really cold here at night the last few nights — the low has been about 26. And the cat has taken up residence on the foot of the bed. I let him, because I know it’s cold on the floor and I have guilt kicking him off the bed. Generally, though, he’s not allowed. But I’ve been a good Mom and let him sleep with me.
When he departed the area this morning shortly before 6 am, there was a very hot spot where he’d been all night. It was nice and toasty warm for my toes. 🙂
On Monday, I headed in to work. It was a relatively slow day and I knew there were a lot of people out. So I was hoping to get lots of stuff done. Well, lo and behold… one of the young engineers popped around my cube. He tells me he’s been “looking for me.” My response? WHY?
As it turns out, he wants to know how to write a book and get it published. Oh boy. I told him to sit down and start writing. He asked me about a million questions about wrting and getting published. He wants to write Tom Clancy-esque novels. I told him to be sure and do his research because readers are a smart lot.
We’ll see if he takes any of my advice. Like I’m some expert.
If I’ve learned one thing over the last few years, it’s this. Writing every day will only make you a stronger, better writer. That’s why I have my daily word goals. To keep me writing every day.
Anyway, I’m glad it’s the weekend. Don’t have a clue as to what I’m doing yet. Other than work on some things I need to get done (i.e., computer-related things like website updating and what-not). And yes, of course, writing! I do plan to write this weekend as well. Hopefully, I can knock out another big chunk.
I’m definitely thinking this book will be longer than the projected 35,000.
Oh and yes, Devon, I’m off to get some hair color this weeked. It’s time to cover that gray! hehe
