Since I got the WIP out to the CPs Monday night AND I managed to meet my self-imposed March 1 deadline, I took the night off. I spent some time on Facebook uploading some old photos when I danced. Witness this one. Yes, that’s really me. I used to be able to do that but in my nearly-40 body, I am no longer this flexible.
That was a long-ass time ago, I might add. π I believe it was 1987 or 1988. Egads. We danced to Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”. Of course!
Anyway… so last night I took it easy. I did work on a new book at lunchtime. I fiddled with it and came up with a new character I wanted to write into the story. She’s going to be a six-foot-tall lizard named Velocity who owns a sword and sorcery shop.Β Hey, it’s space fantasy. I can get away with that, right?
I’m also reading a fellow writer’s debut novel and enjoying it quite a bit. It’s full of snarky fun (and an urban fantasy).
I also downloaded some music on iTunes. My coworker told me about this folk group and let me listen to them on her iPod and I loved them. So I downloaded them and am enjoying them as I write this.
And that’s about it for me. Hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday. I’m off to the dentist for my regular checkup today.
Black Swan, Part II?? π
*sigh* We all could do things with our bodies in the 80’s we would only DREAM about, now. But I bet if you were determined enough, you could totally get it back. The flexibility. Never say never!
I find it funny how, as we age, we become more and more NON-flexible. Literally AND figuratively. ha ha
Yep, “Stars and Stripes” — I danced to that en pointe for the bicentennial (I’m a little older than you are). I remember those days well.
Whoa! Check out those legs! I wish I would have danced. I also wish both of my girls hadn’t quit. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, eh?
I’m totally NOT flexible anymore. I could probably get back into dance if I wanted to but, meh, I’m too lazy for that. π
Look at you on your toes! I am impressed! You look great.
