Yesterday I talked about going to Sci-Fi Expo with the husband and kiddo. While we were there we saw a number of things. Especially a whole lot of zombies! I guess I don’t get the whole zombie thing. I don’t want The Walking Dead – I know that’s probably a travesty for some of you.
We also saw a lot of people dressed up like Star Wars characters and other miscellanoeus things. I think next year I want to dress up as Galadriel. ๐
Most of the time was spent in the exhibitors hall and we found two different booths that sold things I love: fairies and dragons. I adore fairies and dragons. I’ve recently started a small collection.
My son, who is 11, decided he HAD to have a pewter dragon with a sword. I told him we’d look around some more and he could pick one thing. So he better make it a good ONE thing cuz that’s all he was getting. We walked up and down every aisle several times. He finally decided toward the end of the day he wanted that dragon.
For me it was a no brainer. I wanted a fairy. One had pretty fairies than the other. He also had these small boxes with a fairy painted on the tile. It was too cool. I really want one of those. So we were all happy. We all got stuff we wanted (husband got a Stargate/Starbucks t-shirt). The fairy I picked is pictured here? Isn’t she beautiful? The detail is lovely. And her wings are quite delicate. Now I can’t wait for Scarborough Faire so I can add to the collection. ๐
Fairies and dragons have real histories. Fairies were real people, and dragons, well… here are a couple of articles from research I did, if you like tracing these legends to their origins. Your son might like to know how dragon legends started!

I would love another guest post from you, anytime! Or promote a new book if you have one in the works.
Hi Michelle! Thanks for the links! I’d love to have you again. Just email me ๐
No zombies, werewolves, vampires for me. Just a nice man with a twinkle in his eye.
Cute fairy! I saw a Milennium Falcon shirt the other day that was totally cool.
