I can’t believe it’s February already!
And woohoo! It’s Friday! And your chance to win a free book.
Whew. What a week. I’m so glad it’s nearly over. Last night, the kiddo had a birthday party to go to. It was at this place called Leapin’ Lizards. You know, I gotta say – I’m impressed with this place. The kids got to play and run and wear themselves out and then they got pizza and cake. Cool.
I hung out with the other moms and we chatted while the party went on. It was nice to talk to them and socialize a little bit outside my circle. Even though I’m kinda shy – I know, that is so hard to believe right? But really Iย am. I have a hard time walking up to folks and saying, “Hi, I’m …” But I did it.
Then we hit the door at 8:30, put him in the tub, washed his hair and then I sat down to watch LOST. I missed every minute while I was at the party.
I’ve decided I absolutely, positively cannot live without my coffee. This morning I think I drank about four cups. It’s the only thing that kept me going all day long since I stayed up super late. I finished reading Bloodfever and … wow. Just wow. I want the third one already! I wish she’d hurry up! ๐
This is a really amazing series. If you’re looking for dark urban fantasy, GET THIS. It’s well worth the time and definitely on my Keeper Shelf.
So, the question of the day is – what’s on your Keeper Shelf? Something you’ve recently discovered or something that you’ve had forever? Please share. Because I’m always looking for new stuff to read.
Oh, and let me know if you want to be in Free Book Friday until midnight CST. I’m giving away Melissa Schroeder’s Lessons in Seduction. I’ll put your name in the hat and have my kiddo draw the winner in the morning.
Happy Free Book Friday!
Ah, Free Book Friday, how can anyone resist that? ๐
Okay, Keeper Shelf? Easy on one, Gone With The Wind has been there forever, and I’ve read it countless times… it never loses it’s magic. Also, Kathleen Woodiwiss’s “Shanna” is one I’ve adored from the first time I read it. And, for new stuff — absolutely ANYTHING by Lucy Monroe, who is wonderful in contemporary settings or historical. If you haven’t read her, you really should, she’s so good….
Hugs, Michelle!

Hey, what did you think of LOST?
Just finished “The Historian” by Elizabeth Kostova. LOVED it. “The Other Boleyn Girl” by Philippa Gregory, and “The Queen’s Fool.” Probably the best tudor fiction books I’ve read, hands down! Currently reading “An Assembly such as This” and loving it too. (I talk about it on my blog).
lets see, one that I’ve just had to rebuy in hardcover since I’ve read paperback so many times that pages are falling out of it is When the Splendor Falls by Laurie McBain, then theres most of the Stephanie Laurens Cynster series, Sabrina Jeffries, the historicals by Shannon Drake (I’ve read The Kings Pleasure countless times too!), and recently read the first of Melissa Schroeder’s Harmless series….grew up reading Georgette Heyer, Rosemary Rogers, and Johanna Lindsay. Last thing, YES please put me in for the Free Friday Book giveaway ’cause this book you’re giving away this week looks like another to add to the Keeper shelf. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters
The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas (particular translation)
Midnight Rainbow, Diamond Bay, White Lies, Son of the Morning (4 different books) by Linda Howard
Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale
Descent into Danger by Shannon Greenland
Anything by Joey W. Hill or Sarah McCarty
