Where It All Began
When I wrote Call of the Dark, I wanted to create an adventure that combined supernatural mystery, action, romance, and a touch of the unexpected.
Anna wasn’t a chosen one who had all the answers. She was stubborn. Curious. Determined. And often found herself in situations she was wildly unqualified to handle.
Kincade was the opposite. Disciplined. Controlled. Protective. The kind of man who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders without ever asking for help.
Together, they became one of my favorite character pairings I’ve ever written.
Readers followed them across continents in search of ancient Holy Relics, through hidden conspiracies, supernatural battles, and discoveries that challenged everything they thought they knew.
What neither of them expected was that their greatest strength would become each other.
Years Later…
Time has passed. The world has changed. And so have Anna and Kincade. When readers reunite with them in Dark Night of the Soul, they’ll find two people who have survived more than most could imagine.
The previous adventures are behind them. The scars remain. The losses remain. The lessons remain. But so does their devotion. The threats they face in the War of the Brotherhood are different from anything they’ve encountered before.
This isn’t simply a hunt for relics. This is a war. A war against an enemy that has spent years preparing in the shadows. A war that threatens everyone they love. A war that will force them to confront the darkest parts of themselves.
The Evolution of a Heroine
One of the things I love most about returning to Anna is seeing how far she’s come. The young woman readers met in Call of the Dark was brave, but she was still discovering who she was. The woman readers meet in Dark Night of the Soul knows exactly who she is. She has fought monsters. She has faced angels and demons. She has endured loss, heartbreak, and impossible choices. And she has emerged stronger because of it. Anna is no longer simply surviving the story. She’s helping lead it.
The Evolution of a Guardian
Kincade has changed just as much. When readers first met him, he viewed the world through duty and responsibility. Protect the mission. Protect the relics. Protect Anna. Everything else came second. Years later, he’s still a protector. But now he understands something he didn’t understand before. Love isn’t a weakness. It’s a reason to keep fighting. And that realization may make him more dangerous than ever.
A New Beginning
Although Dark Night of the Soul launches a brand-new trilogy, it is also a homecoming.
For longtime readers, it’s an opportunity to return to beloved characters and discover what happened after the original Dream Walker series ended. For new readers, it’s a chance to begin a journey filled with adventure, romance, supernatural intrigue, and found family.
