This was a crappy year so I’m glad to see it go. I lost my job. I was unemployed for three months. I said goodbye to one kitty and hello to another. Then I got another job. Thank goodness. It pays the bills. But the job loss really set us back on a lot of things we wanted to do this year. Like fix the bathrooms. (We have a broken shower, still…) It’s not really a year I want to remember all that fondly. Plus, I sunk about $1800 into car repairs on a vehicle I paid off in May. That doesn’t bode well, if you ask me. I’ve been considering a new car, but I just can’t bring myself to make another car payment so soon. I’d hoped to have a least a few years reprieve. Stupid car.
I hope 2012 is better. I have a lot plans for the year. Don’t we all? 🙂 I’m proud to report I wrote just over 10,000 words in the month of December. The husband and I spent some great quality time together the last week of the year – we were both off work. We did all sorts of fun things including visiting Sea Life Aquarium.
We also went to the building where I work to see all the Christmas lights. The top of the building lights up in red and then changes to green. It’s really a cool effect. And all the trees are tightly wrapped in LED lights. We enjoyed walking up and down the sidewalks to see them. The weather has been exception for that type of thing, too. It wasn’t even all that cold. In fact, it was 70 degrees yesterday and it will be again. We’re supposed to get a cold front early next week, though, so we’re enjoying it while it lasts. February is usually the brutal month with all the ice and foul weather.
Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to do a recap of 2011 in pictures. So without further ado, here you go.
February 4, 2011 – very cold. So much for the Big Game, eh, Jerry Jones? I snapped this of the Blue Jay and the Cardinal sharing the feeder in the backyard. We kept the birds stocked up in food all winter. As we always do.
Easter 2011. We spent it at my sister’s in East Texas.
June 2011. New York, NY!
July 2011. We went from Frigid to Boiling Hot. Worst.Summer.Ever.
July 2011. We still miss you, Sampson.
October 2011. Hello, Dexter. Welcome to the family!
Merry Christmas!
Happy 2012 dear friend. May it be a productive and great year fory you. 😛
I’m optimistic about 2012. 2011 was a good year in terms of living in a place I love and figuring out how to schedule my work. Learned a lot, and hope to apply it.
I was also thrilled with the final version of ASSUMPTION OF RIGHT, and I’m excited that the Jain Lazarus books have been picked up. Fingers crossed that 2012 is productive and abundant for us all.
Okay, I swear I didn’t steal your funny comic! I stole it from someone on facebook! LOL!
Here’s to a successful, productive 2012!!
