Quote of the Day:
Do not falter or shrink; But just think out your work, And just work out your think.
– Nixon Waterman
Today is Mozart’s birthday! Thanks for the tunes, dude. 😉
It’s amazing how fast the week goes. Can’t believe it’s already Friday.
I worked on the contest e-submissions for Winter Rose most of the day today. I am finally organized and have score sheets done for each entry. I think I’m ready to start gathering email addresses and sending them out. It will be a long process but I think I have it all figured out in my head how it needs to go.
In going through the entries I ran across some very interesting Word formatting techniques. Not to brag or anything, but I am a Word expert. When people need help with Word, they call me. I can usually walk them through what they want to do via the telephone. One entrant did creative line spacing. Another had interesting header formatting on each page. And me being the total and complete anal person I am had to fix it. Otherwise when the judges commented on the entry, the formatting would get all whacked out. It was time consuming but definitely a need.
My next order of business is to completely re-do the score sheet for electronic entries. The judges need to be able to click checkboxes to answer certain questions. This will make it a heckuva lot easier for them to fill it out. And so much neater! (See? Anal… :hehe:)
I received my own entries to judge and I’ll start reading those shortly. I admit I sneaked a peek at some of the e-submissions (I’m only reading print) and saw some really fantastic writing.
As for my own writing, I continued on with the Jack and Marion story, which has actually evolved into the Kyle and Marion story. Jack is still a character but he will be the antagonist instead of the hero like I originally planned. Especially when I got feedback regarding Jack’s character. 😆 He definitely needs to be the jerk of the story.
Late blogging today. I just couldn’t get motivated and into the blog mindset. Besides that, I got busy on the contest stuff and time got away from me.
Last but not least…I think I’m getting a cat!
A cat! What fun. Like a kitten or a cat? What will you name it?
I love the quote for today. Very cool.
I want a cat. Can I just come and kiss yours when it arrives??
Awww, don’t get a cat, get a KITTY!! :wigglebrow:
Sounds like the writing business is keeping you busy! I have an idea I have to run by you…I’ll give you the specifics later!
Awwww a new baby! Wonderful! We just picked up a stray *sigh* damn kids……. :wall:
His name is Rowdy and he’s ‘dorable!
Leigh: Probably a cat and the one I’m thinking of getting is a male name Target (he was rescued from a Target parking lot). He’s a gray tabby and so sweet.
Nik: Come by ANYTIME! 😉
Lara: Can’t wait to hear it. Send it on. 😉
CeCe: AWW.. what a cute name!
