Yesterday was super busy. I had dinner guests – an old friend from high school – and a lot to get done around the house. After church, I cleaned like a madwoman and got everything done. Well, save for the dusting. I didn’t get that done but I figured what’s a little dust?
I made my roasted pork loin with roasted vegetables, homemade mac and cheese, and an apple cobbler for dessert. It was all divine. The pork loin, I have to admit, came out perfect.
I vacuumed, mopped the floor, cleaned the bathrooms and the cat box. I washed the dnning room chair seat cushions, used my mother’s table cloth and placemats. It was nice and good company, She brought a bottle of wine and … videos from our marching band days. Of which we both had a starring role in one of the clips. We were dancing in the stands. It was hilarious. I couldn’t believe I was such a moron even back then.
After they left, I put Kiddo in the tub and cleaned the kitchen and ran the dishwasher again. The big pans are still in the sick but I just couldn’t deal with them.
I got Kiddo ready for bed and he wanted me to lay down with him for five minutes. So I did, thinking I would be out soon. I wasn’t; but he was in less than 10 minutes. I crawled out of his bed, shut everything down and headed for my own bed where I sat up until midnight typing away on my NaNo project. I’m really pleased with my progress so far.
The story is slow but good. I really like my heroine a lot. She’s tough as nails. I think somewhere undernearth her hard exterior, there’s a soft heart, though. That’s for my hero to take advantage of. 🙂
Kiddo has a dental appointment this morning so I have to call the school here momentarily to let them know he’ll be late. And then it’s off to work for me. It’s starting to look like it’ll be a quiet week. I hope.
YOU ROCK!!!!
