The old year is officially gone and the new year is here. For me, 2012 was just an okay year. I did get laid off but was fortunate enough to find another job within 30 days. I also got rid of my POS car and got a new Chevy Equinox. I love my car. Best purchase I’ve made in a very long time.
For whatever reason, it was hard getting into the Christmas spirit. The holidays are never easy but this year seemed particularly challenging. Maybe because I scheduled something for every Saturday in December (never doing that again!).
For New Year’s we stayed home. We watched Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (which wasn’t the same without Dick Clark. Fergie was annoying as hell). We watched our own Big D New Year’s Eve and made fun of all the horrible bands. We had champagne at midnight. We went to bed at 12:30. But hey – I made it to midnight. Mostly because I wouldn’t allow myself to fall asleep.
For 2013, I have a lot of goals. Not resolutions. I want to finish getting out of deb this year – I’m down to two credit cards. You may remember that in 2012, I decided it was the year I was going to pay off all my credit cards. I almost made it. I have a feeling that by the end of this year, they will both be paid in full or damn near it. I also have a lot of writing goals, none of which I really want to share here. Not that I don’t want to share, mind you, it’s only because whenever I do put it in black and white and post it for the whole Internet to see, it’s like I lose interest. I did write them down but I’m keeping them close to my heart. 😉
What are your plans for 2013? Anything big? Anything lofty? Or are you just going to stay the course?
Happy New Year, Michelle! We are hoping to set some family goals and one of those is to pay off credit cards. If we are strict, this time next year we will be good to go… Other than that, nothing lofty other than smaller goals (better balancing of time, eating better, being a better wife and mom, etc). We’ll see how it all goes. Good luck with your goals!
Good luck, Amy! Paying off those CCs is hard. But with discipline, you can do it 🙂
