How I Do All the Things
(Or: the truth behind the books, the audio, and the podcast)
I’m constantly asked how I do all I do.
The books.
The audio.
The podcast.
From the outside, it can look like nonstop motion—like I’m always creating, always launching, always juggling one more thing. And I get the question. Sometimes I look at my own project list and think, Yeah… how do I do all this?
But here’s the honest truth: it only looks like a lot because it’s layered.
I’m not doing everything at once. I’m building one thing at a time, with intention—and letting each piece support the others.
The illusion of “doing it all”
There’s a myth in creative spaces that productivity equals hustling harder. That if you’re accomplishing multiple things, you must be running yourself into the ground or operating on some secret reserve of superhuman energy.
That’s not what’s happening here.
What is happening is systems. Seasons. Momentum.
A story becomes a book.
A book becomes an audiobook.
An audiobook introduces new listeners to my worlds.
The podcast becomes a place for connection—not just with readers, but with the creative community itself.
None of these things exist in isolation. They’re branches of the same tree.
When I stopped thinking of books as “just books”
One of the biggest shifts for me came when I stopped thinking of my books solely as my creative babies—and started thinking of them as products.
That doesn’t mean I care less about the stories. Quite the opposite.
It means I finally gave myself permission to think about how they live in the world.
Books don’t just sit quietly on a shelf anymore. They travel. They speak. They invite readers in through audio, visuals, conversation, and experience. Once I embraced that, everything changed—not just in how I marketed my work, but in how I approached creating it in the first place.
I stopped playing it safe with my characters.
I pushed deeper into my worlds.
I trusted that stories are meant to be shared in more than one way.
I don’t do everything—and that’s the point
Here’s what I don’t do:
I don’t try to be on every platform.
I don’t chase every new trend.
I don’t wait for perfect conditions or unlimited free time.
Instead, I choose a few things that matter to me—and I build around those.
Some seasons are for writing.
Some are for audio.
Some are for community and conversation.
Not everything moves forward at once. And it doesn’t have to.
Why this works (for me)
At the core of all of it is one simple truth: I love stories.
I love worlds.
I love finding new ways to invite people into them.
And I love learning how to make this creative life sustainable—not just emotionally, but practically.
This isn’t a blueprint. It’s not a formula anyone needs to copy.
It’s simply what happens when you stop asking, “How do I do more?” and start asking, “How do I make what I’m already doing work together?”
If you’re feeling stretched, behind, or convinced that everyone else has some secret you don’t—that secret is probably just intention.
And maybe permission.
