I forgot to mention yesterday – YES – I am indeed going to have the best roommate ever next week: Vicki Batman. AKA Stalker Buddy. 🙂 I’m looking forward to it!
The wind gusted all day long. A hot wind, too. It’s been unseasonably warm here. And when I say that, I mean the high has been 100-101 every day. I swear, I feel like I’m going to burst into flame if I walk outside. So I stay inside. Actually, I noticed it was in the 90s yesterday. Mostly because the AC didn’t run as much as it usually does during the day. I try to keep the thermostat on 80 with all the ceiling fans going to keep the cost down. I noticed I wasn’t as uncomfortable as I usually am.
I had a great lunch yesterday with a friend. We chatted for over an hour and stuffed ourselves with Mexican food. That’s one of the perks of not working. I can actually have a real lunch date and not have to worry about getting back to work on time. I also did a couple of work searches this morning so I could keep up with my unemployment requirements.
And then when I settled down to write…I had major issues with Word. It’s having difficult opening some files which is annoying. I tried to repair it but it didn’t really help much. I wasted over an hour on this crap. I finally gave up and started writing. I managed to get about 1200 words in an hour but I didn’t finish the section I was working on before the husband got home. Today is another day, though, so I’ll be back to it. I’m still pretty pumped about this story and it’s unfolding so well. Plus I just hate the villainess in the story. I can’t wait to kill her off. 😉
I also got some stitching done last night but I think I pulled out as many stitches as I put in. It wasn’t a good night. Or, rather, I’d reached my limit of stitching I think. When I start making mistakes, I know it’s time to stop. I’d actually used the wrong color (AGAIN!) and had to rip out about 30 stitches. Such is the way of things. And this pattern isn’t exactly easy. Here’s a progress photo I took a couple of days ago:
I’ve started on the upper right hand corner with the leaves and background. All half-stitches. I like the way it’s turning out, even if I do keep having to re-do stuff. 🙂
That’s pretty.
I love being able to book leisurely lunch dates. It means I’ll take a break after a few hours’ work and come back feeling better about life, the universe, and everything.
Congrats on the writing!
It looks amazing. Can’t wait to see it finished!
YOU SO NEED A MAC!!!!
*ahem* sorry, just had to get that out of my system. I know, I know, you’re a PC and will always be a PC, but real friends never give up!
😉 YOU GO on the writing! I miss it. I really really do.
LOL Lara! The husband and I had a conversation about how outrageously expensive Macs are last night. hehe I made him work on my PC. It’s better but Word is still having issues. :/
