Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a here-and-now kinda girl. That’s the way I roll. I see something I want, I get it. I want new shoes, I get them. There’s a new Coach bag I’m burning to have, I get it. I have a set deadline for when I’m going to buy a house, I do it. No grass grows under my feet. I’m a doer. I get things DONE. Even Man knows this. He says watching me is exhausting.
In the mornings, I can feed the kid breakfast, make his lunch, unload the dishwasher, make the bed, brew coffee, throw together my lunch all in a twenty minute time-span. I suppose watching someone do all that would be exhausting, wouldn’t it?
I suppose that’s why the writing game is so difficult for me. Why I have to hurry-up and wait and why it drives me crazy. It’s the nature of the business.
Patience was never one of my virtues. 😀
I’m off work today to have some fun with the kiddo on his last day of Spring Break. I think everyone needs a break every now and then so I’m looking forward to the day. Plus, the weather is supposed to be good today (a high of 73!). BUT this weekend, another cold front with lots of cold rain and maybe even snow. Gotta love Texas! Don’t like the weather, just wait a minute.
Have a great weekend, all!
LOL don’t EVER take up counted cross stitch!
😉
HAHA LARA! I used to do that! And I was good at it… haha
Why hurry up and wait? Just keep writing. Someday, they’ll catch up to you. 🙂
Well, the way you earn a living at the writing game is by doing. You write it, polish it, get it out the door and immediately work on the next piece while waiting for the response.
That’s why Hope Clark’s 13-in-play is so important — you should always have 13 pieces on submission — and be working on the next one.
