Quote of the Day:
When a woman pulls on a great pair of boots, she not only walks differently—she behaves differently.
–Catherine Wilson, Harper’s Bazaar
Is it Monday already? Crikey, where does the time go?
This weekend flew by. Since I stayed up so late on Saturday, I was exhausted by the time Sunday night rolled around. Sunday afternoon, the boys went geocaching while I stayed behind and worked on my historical. I’m so close to finishing that thing I can taste it. I did some edits, wrote a few more new scenes, but there are still holes that need to be filled. And I’m really starting to get into it again. I printed the entire manuscript and am slowly, methodically going through it. When I wrote the first draft, I didn’t bother breaking it into chapters (Scener/Pantser) so now I’m going back and doing that as I go. Once I get it all polished, I’m submitting it to Samhain. I think I’ve given up on New York. For now.
When the boys got home, I continued to work since I was on a roll. I could hear Husband watching the football game and Sweetie Boy playing with his cars and trains. Then suddenly – it all got quiet. Turns out, they were both crashed out on the couches! So I took that moment to finish folding and putting away laundry and start dinner.
I made a lovely paprika chicken with scalloped potatoes, garlic bread, and salad. It was tasty.
I crashed directly at 10 last night. Even though I wanted to do more work on the historical, I just couldn’t get my tired brain to think any more. So I knew it was time to hang it up for the night.
This morning came swiftly. Probably because I slept like the dead. I didn’t want to get up…and outside something strange was happening. Small round droplets of water was falling from the sky. I think, and I could be wrong, this would be known as RAIN but I couldn’t say for sure since it’s been a lifetime since we got any around these parts. We were beginning to think we lived in the desert. But finally – it’s raining. Sort of.
It’s still unseasonably warm here. We were in short sleeve shirts yesterday!
Anyway.. time to go. Gotta get to work.
It’s also unseasonably warm here. I keep waiting for minus 45 to hit, but it doesn’t. And your dinner sounded delicious! :hyper:
Here’s what warm weather does to me:
We also had a few days of unseasonably warm weather here, so I took this as a sign that I needed to start working on my summer bod’ before Spring rally crept up on me. Two great days of eating right and working out and then it got cold and windy again and I again retired to the couch with my remote, a cup of Pepsi and junk food. Sigh.
What a productive day for you also! I am so excited about the historical being near completion for you! Submit, submit!
I am so excited that you have broken out of the writing slump! Here’s to finishing the Historical VERY soon!
:yeahbaby:
Don’t you give up on New York! Even for now. Keep on submitting baby!
And I need a dinner invitation the next time you make that chicken. It sounds delightful!
