Progress Update: 2644 yesterday and another chapter completed. Yay!
It’s hard to believe today is the first day of July. For the last few days, we’ve had rain which is really good but it sure does make it humid and rather miserable. This is all the rain wes should have gotten in May. I think the season is confused.
Yesterday as I was writing, I started to wonder if I was addressing people correctly. So I had to stop and do some research on medieval forms of address. It’s really confusing how they addressed each other by their rank in the social ladder. I found some great resources and printed them all up to save for future reference. Then I went back and made corrections to my manuscript. Now I feel as though I’m closer but not all that close. I also found a website with basic faire language which will help when I want to throw in some authenticity. Of course, they’re not going to talk like that all the time with thee and thou because I think that’d tire out the reader. But some colorful words here and there will do just fine.
Thanks, Devon, for the info on the serial. I think I’m going to have to throw it all out and start over. Might be easier than trying to revise. Most of the basic things I can keep like setting and plot, though, so I might be good there. I’d really like to get those three novellas done, though, and submitted. Hopefully I can work on that when I finish the historical. Though I never know where my interest will be next. 🙂
It’s Thursday! One more day closer to the long weekend. I’m really looking forward to it!
