You know, it’s really not fair living in Texas sometimes. We don’t really have seasons. Not really. We have Hot, Hotter and Hades. Sometimes we actually have a winter and get snow. Like when it did this a couple of years ago:
And then it melts two days later. In the meantime, we’re stuck at home because we don’t have sand trucks down here and no one knows how to drive on it anyway.
Last summer sucked. I think from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, every day was 100+. Okay so I’m exaggerating but I’m telling you, it was HOT and it was DRY. We didn’t get a lot of rain. This year has been better. By that I mean we’ve only had 30 days of 100+ degrees. 😐
Wednesday as I drove home in my new vehicle (which I love and adore and if I could sleep in it I would), the temperature gauge read 129. I wish I was making that up. I couldn’t believe it. I swear I thought I was going to burst into flame. It reminded me our of family vacation in July to West Texas with no AC in that POS car I used to drive. I thought my eyeballs were going to melt.
Today the temperature is supposed to be something ridiculous like 103. Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me? It’s supposed to be cooling down after September 1. That is the rule, isn’t it? I think by this time of year, we are so sick of the heat and are just ready for any kind of cool front. Hell, a high of 95 would be relief.
We’re supposed to get some cooler weather with maybe some rain this weekend. I hope so. I’ve decked the house out in Fall attire – I’m ready for the season! I even have a bowl of candy corn (my favorite Halloween candy!). I’m ready!
