Happy FIRST Anniversary to my knight in shining armor. I love you, honey! Here’s to MANY more happy years together. <3
I’m a terrible blogger lately. My poor blog is so neglected. It’s not that I don’t have anything to talk about… I do. But I’m a busy girl and trying to fit in everything in an already packed day is, well, hard.
I *have* been writing. Not quiet every day and last week was pretty much a lost cause. But I’ve made up for it this week. I’ve clocked in about 3000 words this week so far. I usually force myself to write the story from start to finish and not skip ahead. Except with this book, I had this idea for a great couple of scenes and I knew if I didn’t get them out, then I would never remember it by the time I reached that part of the book. So I skipped ahead. And my fingers have been on fire. I’ve been pounding out the words like a madwoman and I’m really pleased with the way it’s going. I’m kinda/sorta writing the end. π But you know, that can’t be all bad. At least now I know where I need to go and how to get there, right? I just have to figure out all the stuff in between.
Which I kinda/sorta already have. π
I did write a synopsis for this book but it was, um, vague. I wish I could write detailed synopses but I just can’t. I think what I need is the barebones of the story and then build around that. Plus, I’m still a Pantser at heart. I need to be surprised and let my characters take off where they want to. The plotting I did, though, wasn’t for naught. I’m still getting use out of all the character data I put together for me hero and heroine. So it’s all good.
What else is going on? Well, I tried to make fudge and failed. So I’m asking Santa for a candy thermometer. π But I did try again to make fudge because my good friend, Misty Evans, gave me a microwave fudge recipe. It came out good! Thank you, Misty.
In other news, my family has decided to have a giant Mexican feast for our Christmas get-together instead of the traditional fare. Tamales, tacos, enchiladas, Mexican salad. I’m responsible for dessert. I’m bringing sopapilla cheesecake (thanks to the suggestion from my brilliant co-worker). There are a plethora of recipes to choose from so hopefully I can find a really good one. I also intend to make some baked goodies to giveaway to others.
I have lots to do still before the holiday – Christmas cards to send, packages to mail, presents to finish and buy! So I better get on with it. Hope you all have a SUPER day!
Dear Dusty Tome; My name is Bailey and I’m a baaaad blogger. The last time I blogged was posting a picture for December 7. I am not ready for Christmas .. and I’m having it at my house. Oh well. But hey! Good job on the wordage!! I’ve always jumped around because when the muses give me a scene I have to take it. I hate synopsis and outlines – even in school reports when I used to write the outline last. Yeah ….. Your cheesecake sounds great too!!! Oh, and Happy Anniversary!!!!!!
Happy anniversary!!! π
