This week has seemed so darn long. I don’t know why.
I managed to write last night. Not much as my head was pounding. I only got about 600 words. Poor progress but at least it was progress. Why is it some books are so easy to write and others are so damn hard? I still haven’t figured that out. I’m working on the second book in my new series and while I know in my head where I want it to go, I’m having a hard time getting there. Though I did write a wonderful scene with the two sisters who hate each other. It was all sorts of foul language and name-calling. Good times.
When I first started writing, I would write out the scenes that came to me. No matter where they fell in the book. It could be somewhere in the middle or even the end. I write more linear now instead of jumping around all over the place. Maybe I should go back to the old way of doing it just to see where it would get me. Hm. Maybe I’ll try that.
We had a cold front come through and BOY is it cold. Had to pull out the heavy coats. Should be a nice weekend though. And we’re supposed to get some rain early next week.
And… I find it really hard to believe that Thanksgiving is upon us. Time is flying. I want it to slow way down, please.
The second book in a series always just about kills you. It’s par for the course. Push through. Every word you put down is more than you had the day before. Hang in there.
I second what Devon said. Sequels are always a struggle, even if you know what you’re going to write. Maybe it’s just so depleting, writing the first one? But I know you can do it! Press forward!!
Stay warm! We’re cold here too, and WINDY.
