I’ve been trying to think of something to blog about. I haven’t really come up with a topic yet. 🙂

I did manage to get some stuff done yesterday. The kiddo had a dental appointment yesterday morning so it was early rising and then off. We got home and I worked for a bit on formatting a book. We had another errand to run. I like to get them out of the way before noon because it’s just too hot in the afternoon to go outside. The highs here have been triple digits ranging from 100-102. Of course that’s the temp. I should mention the heat index is more like 107. And then walking across concrete? You feel like you’re on fire. It’s miserable. I had a feeling this was going to be a hot summer after all that blistering cold in February. It’s our payback.

I stopped in at Family Video and rented a couple of movies for us and a game for the kiddo. It’s keeping him occupied. I chatted on the phone with a good friend for nearly an hour. After I hung up, I felt so inspired, I sat down and managed to write nearly 3k. It wasn’t easy, either. Especially with the constant interruptions from the kiddo. I finally banished him to his room with Spider-Man 3. It was the only way I was able to get anything written.

I’m feeling good about this story, still. I’m trying to get into the Fast Draft mindset (the class taught by Candace Havens). She writes her first draft in 2 weeks. I’m setting a goal to have this draft completed by July 20. Ambitious, eh? Hopefully I can do it. Especially since I’m not sure where this story ends yet. HA! I’m going to shoot for 50k. I’m nearly to 30k right now.

Hopefully I can get more words in today. My original goal was 2k but I may try to up that to 3k.
