Before I get started. HEY – Spammers! :censored: off. Okay?
I feel like I’m in mourning. I miss Skye and Dane terribly. I miss their witty banter. I miss spending time with them on a daily basis. I guess that’s a sure sign I need to get back to work on something with them, eh?
KeepItComing was supposed to resume as of the 25th. As of this writing, the authors have heard nothing. The subscriptions have not gone out. This may change by the end of the day, however. But I have my doubts.
Nary a peep.
It’s annoying. She’s keeping my work tied up until she decides to release it and I just need it released so I can move on. I have other things I want to do with Skye and Dane and keeping them wrapped up in a contract that doesn’t expire until the end of the year is annoying me.
If the website does tank, which I fully expect it will, I am going to demand immediate copyright release as well as a list of all my subscribers for both serials. I want to give them the opportunity to at least continue with the serial if they wish.
Finishing the serials has been a large accomplishment for me. Although I enjoyed writing by deadline, toward the end, I was getting annoyed with them simply because they were taking so much creative energy and so much time away from the other projects I wanted to pursue. I have a lot of ideas in my noggin and I need to get them down before they’re all gone.
The Coffee House Chronicles is my foray into contemporary fiction. So far, I really love writing these short novellas. I like the brevity of a novella. I can wrap up the story in 35-40,000 words. I have tentative titles for the next four books, the second one is Nice Girls Do. Like Talk Dirty To Me, it will be set in the same town, around the coffee house. TDTM has been submitted and I’m guessing at least a month on response time from the publisher. I have sketches for the three more books in the series – Dirty Little Secrets, Sexy White Lies, and Hot Toddy.
Last night I slept like the dead. No barking dogs, no crying kids, no back spasms. I even climbed into bed early and didn’t pick up my book. I just … went to sleep. It was weird for me. I haven’t done that in a loooong time. And, because I went to bed to early, I was awake at 5:15. I guess that’s the price of going to be early, eh?
Love, love the titles for your series. I’m a big titles girls, but trying to get out of the one word title habit right now. I can’t imagine the frustration of having your creative work tied up in red tape. I hope it’s all resolve soon and you get to continue with Sky and Dane.
Sorry, meant Skye! Hate it when that happens. And now that I’m looking at my prior post I see many, many errors. Sorry… chalk it up to it being late and me having a beer in front of me, LOL.
